Remember when people wanted the Browns to draft Josh Allen because he "looks like a quarterback" and "is built to withstand the punishment in the AFC North"? With the most prolific (Brees - 6'0"), most impressive (Mahomes - 6'2"), one of the best (5'11") and two back-to-back first overall picks (Mayfield - 6'1", Murray - 5'10") coming in under the 6'3" mark, should we start asking... can a 6'5" quarterback even be successful in the NFL?
As much as I like to look into the "crystal ball" as the next guy. I think I'll keep my enthusiasm to 1-game at a time here. @ SF MNF... I agree that the Browns have a very good chance of another Road win on MNF. I'm not sure if the 49ers win against the Yinzers is a testament to how good they are; or just how bad the Yinzers are against quality opponents. I don't think that the 49ers are as good as people are giving them credit for at this point in the season. Again this game will come down to how well the O-line plays. The 49ers have a good defense with a plethora of talent in the trenches. I think it will take another solid game from Chubb and Hilliard keeping the pass rushers honest and slow them down to set up Landry, Beckham and the rest of the passing game. BTW Landry is clear of the concussion protocol and will likely suit up for the game. (edit... was typing this as Lym annoucned the news) Calloway is back hopefully giving Mayfield another deep threat target. Though I'd rather see the Browns go with a quick hitting passing game and let the WR do their thing with the YAC. As long as the D continues to play well the Browns have a good chance of blowing this game wide open, and running away with a big win. The one downside is that the 49ers have had and extra week to prepare for the Browns. Prognostication is that Garrett adds 2 more sacks to his total, and the Browns go +3 in the TO battle. I don't think we get 4 TD's on the ground this week, but Baker gets 2 and Landry connects with OBJ for another, Chubb adds one to his total. Tough but solid win at 34-23. Go Browns...
I'm happy to get Calloway back, but what's up with Hollywood? Not hearing much. I still think he's the more reliable, disciplined reciever of the two, and his connection with Mayfield is undeniable. I think Mayfield misses Njoku a lot too. He was a great outlet option and a physical nightmare for defenses.
I think Ricky Seals-Jones is making Njoku a little uncomfortable sitting out right now. Dude's looked the part in relief of Chief. Hollywood is still secretly WR1 and having him back tonight should be huge. Mayfield: 405 yards, 3 TD and a Browns win.
Have you seen what coke does to people. I’ve seen some 20 years old crack heads that look like they’re 90 years old
Well . . . You got me there, Gid. I grew up in the 60's and, to this very day, I can state I've never even smoked weed. However, I do have a theory. God only allows you to drink so much beer in your lifetime. I used up my allotment early.
Lets call them not old but well seasoned ? I cant say much as I joined the geezer gang two years ago . 62 now so … GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN !!. Makers Mark in my morning coffee .
Browns cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams have missed the last two games with hamstring injuries and they are listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the 49ers. PFT has learned that both players made the trip to Santa Clara with the team on Sunday, but it does not look like they are going to play. Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that both players are expected to be inactive for the third week in a row. That is not a surprising development as neither player practiced at all this week so the Browns should be well prepared for life without the duo. Terrence Mitchell and T.J. Carrie have seen a lot of playing time at corner with Ward and Williams out of the lineup. Juston Burris got a lot of work in Week Three, but the Browns used three safeties — Jermaine Whitehead, Damarious Randall and Eric Murray — more often than three corners last weekend. WTF??? Three weeks without these two supposedly good corners ?? lets go girls get your candy asses back on the field .
Beach you rock buddy . I will take that cart for Christmas . Add a cooler & some tunes and off we go .
WTF? That was humiliating! Baker looks anxious, and isn't poised. Calloway is an idiot. He doesn't fight for the ball, and at least twice when he didn't make the catch, he stops playing, and failed to get involved in tackling the defender when the ball was picked. I want Hollywood back. This team is in danger of really going off the rails. I honestly think Freddie is reeling, and doesn't know what to do to get back the team's mojo. This game was all that I worried it would be and worse. Hearing OBJ and Jarvis talk about them rounding into playoff shape, scared the hell out of me. They have literally done nothing, and yet still want to believe the hype, instead of recognizing they have a lot of work to do. The manhandling of our D line, exposed a true weakness against the run. That is a dangerous precedent, and you can be sure Seattle will take note. The roller coaster ride in Cleveland continues.
