I saw the Bears play the cowboys in a preseason game in London in either 86 or 87. The game sucked, and so did getting run out of the bar so that they could take their tea break. One of the dudes on my tour bus and myself were at the bar knocking down a couple of beers and missed our tour bus. We caught the underground and were waiting for them at the ticket gate. If you go to London go hang out in the Piccadilly Circus. They have some really good bars there. Just don’t get upset when you get kicked out at like two o’clock because of tea break. I don’t know if it’s the same now, but everything used to close for an hour.

No shit. I was a that game too, it was August '86 at the old Wembley. That was the first game I ever went to, the first game the Bears played after winning the SB, and basically the first game that would eventually lead to the so-called international series that exists today. I was just a kid when my parents took me to that tho so getting served at the bar was less of a priority.

Went the following year too for the Rams v Broncos.

    Yea, that was fucking dumb.

side question, I know you can't drink in the stands at soccer games in the UK anymore. They going to allow it for an NFL game?

Okay Ev knowing what you know now about this team over the years, do you ever regret going to that game? Just Asking for a friend who may or may not happen to be BWW.

Oh yeah they'll def be serving alcohol at the game. They serve alcohol at the rugby too. Everytime i go to watch Scotland play at Murrayfield i get shitfaced and in all the years i have never seen any real crowd trouble.

Its just soccer where the stupid thug fucks can't be trusted with grown up drinks.

Ha. Well i'd actually been a Bears fan a little while by then already, so its not like that game is why i became a fan. We lived in West Germany back then so it was a pretty big trip and i don't think my parents would've gone to the trouble if i wasn't already a fan.

Flight to London in an hour, catch you guys later.

    Go Bears!!

With all the hype around him playing his old team, to me it just feels like a game where Mack won't make the stat sheet. Still will be impactful, not not on the stat sheet. I hope I'm very wrong.

V2 Kids today will never understand what we've endured, the 80's was the decade we watched them grow and reach the apex and then crash.
You know I thought the struggle to get to 85 was bad enough from the late 60's and 70's and those bad teams and we didn't make it to the playoffs until 77, but the struggle since 85 has been mind-numbing because I throw out 06 it has been nearly 35 years of futility, and yet here I fucking am. Go you motherfucking Bears!

Ok so the place is pretty much crawling with Bears fans. Seen plenty of raiders too but it feels like 5-1 walkin around. If it's like that in the stadium raiders will be on silent count at "home" lol

Went to the bears official hub pub for the weekend last night. Friggin awesome. Wall to wall bears fans, just got wrecked and had a great time with a bunch of people I've never met but acting like long lost friends.

Got my photo with Staley the Bear but was so drunk I spilled most of my pint on him. Apparently he went to give me a high 5 to say no problem but I just staggered off oblivious. Yep, left Staley the Bear hangin, such poor form heh

Thanks Ev at least we have someone representing this board over there for the game. Since you are our representative that automatically gives you the license to get shitfaced. :SEP:
    Enjoy the game.

    This thread didn't age well.

Maybe we ought to stop taking NFL teams lightly before we gloat about how badly we're going to beat them. That lesson is more for the actual team than the fans... but yeah. Nagy and this team have an unwarranted arrogance.

Also, the guy who ran all over our D today was drafted 24th overall, the pick WE gave the Raiders. They still have our #1 pick next year. So no one has the last laugh yet in this deal.

Bears D had a down game. No doubt about it. You want to bail on them now go right ahead. I think they'll bounce back. The offense. That is another story no matter who plays QB.

  20. blang84 Legend Bears

At this point I feel like there's nothing more to discuss when it comes to QB. We all know where we stand with that position.

I expect the D to never play as badly as they played yesterday for the rest of the year. But man it was ugly, reminded of the Trestman/Tucker defenses.
