    Joker -
it starts out very very SLOW and then gets very weird. the whole laugh thing when not meant to was annoying. it picks up well and you really see his deconstruction into madness. I think Phoenix was terrific in the role considering how lousy the story is. He perfectly gets the Joker role as he's not the Joker when the movie starts. He perfectly slips into the madness that his character slips into to become the Joker of Batman lore. However the story is just too weird and odd-even for the Joker beginnings. The ending is a major downer. I had to google it to make sure i understood it as it played out and it did. wow. that's a sucker punch to the fans that went to see it.

    Phoenix A+
    Movie C-

I went into the movie in such an uplifting mood, people (especially teens) don't need to see that crap.

?? you weren't seeing Toy Story 4 Skinny. It's the Joker. Everyone knows he was nuts, vile and evil. What makes you think this movie would be any different ? It's how the Joker began. Of course it's going to be bloody and violent. That was his m.o.. ?? What were you expecting ?

I knew what to expect, the writing and acting was cheesey. A lot of people are fans of the actor and go easy on the movie.

I knew people like that growing up, on medication, scizophrenia, wow, I need to pay$15 and sit there for two hours watching this sick guy.

then why did you go see it? what else were you expecting ?

i thought Phoenix was great in the role considering the script. he captures slipping into the Joker madness perfectly.

If I knew it was going to be so poorly written with cheesy actors I wouldn't have gone to see it.

I guess my main problem is that it was so hyper-focussed on him. I walked out near the end, I couldn't put up with those close-ups and no shirt on for half the movie. I guess I realized that I really don't need to get to know the joker that well lol.

He was the only real actor in the movie, I go to watch the movie, not the actor. Just seemed like lazy writing for most of it, from the bus scene, subway, his mom. He looked a bit like that actor in silence of the lambs, when he has the senators daughter in that pit.

Frank Sheeran was a tough sob, WW2 vet, killed a lot of people in his time. He did three times the amount of fighting that a normal soldier did at that time.
