How bout that Bears defense though?

Been looking good all year. Haven't allowed 300 yards in a game yet, have they?

Weeks four or five always feel like reset weeks. I never put a lot of stock into what teams do in that period until we see how they rebound in the next two weeks.

I always like to bet the lines on weeks 1-3 (sometimes 4) and weeks 14-17. The betting public is always shooting to far one way or the other during those periods. In the beginning, it's too much expectation and hype. In the end, they stare at the playoff picture and get a tilted view. Both times are great areas to play larger teaser bets and take big point favorites shifted to small favorites or dogs.

I think they did in weeks 2 and 3. But they simply aren’t giving up points and they are back to taking the ball away.

They have some games later on the schedule that will challenge them like the Rams, Chiefs, Eagles, and Cowboys....but they’ve been scary good so far and a lot of fun the watch.

The Saints played 3 teams who now have a combined 8 wins and also played 2 of those on the road. Dallas played 3 teams who now have a combined 2 wins and also played 2 of those at home.

The Saints/Seahawks game was pretty much out of reach when they made the score 27-7. Seattle made a valiant attempt to catch up but they just didn't have the time.

Prescott was at his lowest performance of the season at 73%. It's not as if he played bad, Cooper was contained by Lattimore most of the game. He was also denied of any passing touchdowns.

It's not as if Elliott played bad. The Saints D line was staunch, beefed up by the return of DT Sheldon Rankins. Elliott had 18 carries, but he was stopped for a whopping 35 total yards. That's about 1.9 yards or 5.7 feet per carry. The Saints also stripped him of the ball once.

Dallas' defense gave a herculean effort to keep the Cowboys in the game. Else the 4 field goals might have been been 4 touchdowns. This area is where Dallas outplayed the Seahawks.

I'm very pleased the Saints have played 2 straight games against tough opponents, and without star Drew Brees, and won both of them.

Hey... I think I read somewhere that the Bears won with ... uh... hmm... uhh... well, an Injury Replacement Player at Quarterback... or an Injury Replacement To The Starter (aka IRTTS - a much better acronym). I think that’s what we’re calling the backups around here these days, right? Put the knives away... I’m just your average, everyday dummy trying to keep up.

Raiders will actually be a good test for the Bears D. Not a powerhouse on offense but they get the ball out of the QBs hands fast and run a lot of underneath stuff.

It's exactly the kind of offense that can hurt a defense like the Bears have.

With the Bears likely have Chase Daniel starting under center this game could be a really close, hard fought one.

Just looked at the Bears schedule, and it is BRUTAL the rest of the way. They gotta take care of business here.

I don't really see it as bad some others do but yes this is a game you really can't afford to lose.

Really...? Saints, Chargers, Eagles, Rams, Cowboys, Packers, at Vikings, Lions twice...

Then again, it's probably no worse than Dallas has from here on out: Packers, Eagles twice, Lions, Vikings, Patriots, Bills, Bears, Rams.

Saints, Chargers, and Cowboys are all in Chicago.

None of those games will be anything close to easy. But the Bears defense playing the way it is puts them in every game at the moment.

The way I feel currently is as long as our offense doesn’t turn the ball over I feel pretty good about our chances against any team.

The Raiders bread and butter is their run game, Bears shut that down they should be ok.

I think Daniels is efficient enough to run the Bears offense, but they could sure use some consistency running themselves, i.e. Montgomery -n- Cohen.

I sure don't see a shoot out here, but as mentioned before by BWW, a close hard fought game.

Raiders get the benefit of preparing for Daniel. That’s the only thing they truly bothers me.

He’s a smart QB that knows the offense. He is, however, extremely physically limited in terms of what he can do.

These next 3 weeks on the road after the Jets are going to be interesting for the Eagles but then it's the 3 toughest remaining opponents all at home with a bye week in between (shared by the Pats we are playing right after). Then our last 5 games involve 4 of our 6 easiest games on the entire sched (on paper) and a home game with Dallas. I'd say this week vs the Jets is the 2nd easiest and the 3rd easiest game was the opener hosting Washington.

Picking the Eagles this week as my survivor team on Glen Macnow's "Last Man Standing" pool on WIP. Hope they have an easier time with the Jets than they did in their supposedly "easy game" against the Redskins.

i don't get why the Eagles have 3 road and home games in a row for the second time in 2 or 3 years. that seems like a lot on both ends versus just two games. and they just had 3 on the road 2 yrs ago. why? can't the schedulers make it more accommodating?

The NFL runs through literally thousands of possible schedules to help determine the best outcomes. Not everyone is going to be happy - there's just no way around it. There's a lot to take into account.
