Gonna have to watch the replay of this game, this week - traveling for work and didn't get to see it live.

Interesting that Roquan was out but on the sidelines. That's an important one to monitor. I see the thread from Bear-Man, so I'll keep an eye there for updates.

I would think that this was the perfect week for Kwiatkowski - you guys tell me if you saw that being the case. We know he's bad in coverage, so playing a primarily run team where he can move downhill and plug holes feels like it plays right into his strengths.

Glad Chase stepped up and kept the offense moving. Here's to this team getting healthy very soon.

Completely wrong. The game plan was dink and dunk because thats all Nagy trusted him to do. You trying to tell me if Trubisky was playing well hitting intermediate/deep routes with more consistency Nagy would've shelved it cos the way to beat the Redskins was a platter of short stuff? Ha! That is total bullshit and you know it pat.

Also, Trubisky did turn the ball over. You blanked his horror pick in the endzone already? Impressive.

Wow would you look at that. Chase Daniel went from a guy most people didn't like a month ago to someone a top5 Defense can only stop when they've had a week to gameplan for him. And he did it by being boring and limited. This is great stuff, keep it coming.

Mitch is whatever he shows us he is, that is the crux of this which i can handle and you can not. Lighting up Tampa a year ago means nothing, playing like crap twice and winning by being a game manager against a bottom10 D this month does matter. Mitch is a game manager right now. He'll continue to be until he shows us he's not. Sorry you can't deal in reality regarding this.

I don't need to drop stats. Just remind you that you tried to get people to buy into your Cutler infatuation(yes around the time of McCown) and you wound up looking silly. Stop trying the same thing with Trubisky, the odds are not with you.

Ok please stop with the "they didn't game plan for him" excuse. Its getting embarrassing. This was one of the better Defenses in the league and the Bears weren't bringing 1990 Joe Montana off the bench.

Here's differentiation for you. Daniel got the ball out on time more consistently and ran that Offense more smoothly than Trubisky has at any point this season. Sorry that blows a hole in your yay Mitch narrative but if it makes you feel any better he's just as capable of pulling a "New York" performance next week.

His Cutler infatuation and excuse making continued through the 2016 season when he declared Jay would become a Pro Bowler as soon as he left the Bears.

Just to think that's the depth on this team on that side of the ball, how many teams wish they could get production like that from their starters? That's some sick depth.

The backups played like they all had something to prove yesterday. Energy and intensity we don't always see from the starters even. Good for Pagano for having them up and ready to play at that level.

Yeah. Anyone worried that Pagano wouldn’t get this defense to buy in and answer to him should be feeling good right now.

This defense is so deep in spots and feeding off each other. It’s fun to watch.

Loved that Pagano went with the Big Nickel and Big Dime looks yesterday with the 3rd safety in to make up for missing one of your best linebackers.

Hopefully the injuries we’ve had aren’t long term and this team returns from the bye healthy.

The Raiders game doesn’t worry me much. Our defense should eat their offense and they are without Burfict now for the rest of the season.

We should expect to go into the Saints game at 4-1.

I guess this is a "trap" game for us sandwiched between a bye and a big divisional win. But I am worried about it with the injuries we have and the fact that our routine gets screwed up with the trip to Ev's country. If Chase starts I don't think it will be a blow out by any stretch. We will have to scratch and claw for a win. The Giants game off the mini bye snuck up and bit us last hyear.

4-1 is a lot better than 3-2, especially with the opponents we face after the bye. Not a must win but definitely big.

So are you guys happy he is going to miss time? Reading your board it doesn’t seem like you guys like him anyways. To me the only thing your team is lacking is a good QB. Get one and your team might be unbeatable.

  13. blang84 M.V.P. Bears

Sounds like the injury could have been a lot worse. Hopefully he's ready to go after the bye.

You mean if we have a good QB we might be a legit contender? Gee, none of us realized that. Thanks Einstein.

I’d expect him back after the bye. Non throwing arm.

Rather have him in there than Daniel. Daniel as a surprise after an injury is gonna be better than a team having a week to prepare for him. Vikings weren’t prepared for him at all and it showed.

I do view the Raiders a must win based on the rest of the schedule.

I agree with almost all you said here but no fucking way was that performance better than Trubisky last week. If Mitch didn’t go out of this game and 3 red zone trips got 9 points he would have been crucified and you know it. The offensive line also played much better in pass protection than it has all season. Daniel played well coming off the bench. But let’s not get carried away.

Carried away like saying the defense did it's job even though it gave up a touchdown or saying Mitch played great last week?

The offensive line, in my opinion, wasn't much better yesterday than it has been all season so far. Charles Leno got his ass handed to him all day long. Larsen was bad.

The difference was the QB had patience and good pocket IQ and knew when to get the pass out. No happy feet. No second guessing. Just solid QB play.

Chase Daniel has probably 25% of Trubisky's physical talent. He has 150% of Mitch's total brain power. That's the difference. Daniel knows the offense and knows what he needs to do to not shit the bed. Do I want him under center moving forward? Hell no. Because we won't win games with just field goals. What Daniel does with the offense is what Nagy is trying to teach Mitch to do and Mitch isn't catching on and that is where the problem lies.

  17. EvertonBears M.V.P. Bears

    Preach it brother.

We keep saying it, most of Mitch's problems are between the ears. The processing, the composure, the timing and football IQ. I know Daniel hasn't actually played that many games but when he's out there he's a vet and you can see it. Going by the eye test Daniel this weekend played the ass off of Trubisky last weekend. Wish it was the other way round but it wasn't.

But its also why I haven't given up on Trubisky yet. There is an element of his chances of cracking it actually going up the more experience he gets. At least up to a point. I just keep hoping it can click for him. Damned tough right now tho going thru this period of it not clicking.

BTW, on the subject of timing, haven't watched the replay yet but I strongly suspect the very play Trubs got injured was a case in point. If he gets that ball out on time it goes a different way. But he didn't, instead he started dancing around, tried to scramble it all becomes a blur and then he's got his arm in a sling.

As well as what has just been said, do you think you're taking into account quality of opposition fairly here? Cos 1 was a bad D on a terrible team and the other was a stud Defense under Mike Zimmer. Come on now.

Also, Mitch would've been crucified in that situation yes, but putting aside the fact Mitch had gotten to prepare to start this game all week, in meetings, practising with the 1's which Daniel didn't..... what you described isn't even what happened. Daniel came straight in and led them on like a 60yard TD drive. That doesn't count in your red zone stat?

Daniel's actual stat was 1 TD and 3 FG's from 4 red zone trips. Which of course also includes 0 red zone INTs. You know what they say about if you have to cherry pick to make your point.

Yep I thought the same thing and even had half a post typed out on the game thread saying this since it led to what appeared to be a critical fumble. But in Trubs defense it may have been the defensive holding that made him not throw when he was supposed to.

So unless the defense doesn’t pitch a shutout they aren’t doing their job? Making the Vikings chew up 4 minutes and handing the ball back to the offense still up 2 scores is fine by me.

In the running game I would agree in pass protection I will have to strongly disagree.

None of this says Daniels had a better game than Trubisky did last week and that was my point.
