The above report is confusing - wouldn't they have to sign him to a new contract? So they'd have to pay him on top of his prior guaranteed money? I'm not particularly familiar with how it works, if anyone can offer clarity.

 

Im not sure either. All I do know is he is guaranteed $1.5M for 2019 and is a FA, so im guessing he signed a new contract, but I cant find any numbers.

 

Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell isn’t the only player returning to the Vikings on Tuesday.

When the team announced the previously reported signing of Treadwell on Tuesday afternoon, they also announced that they have signed cornerback Marcus Sherels.

Sherels signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and remained with the team through last season. He signed with the Saints in March and was released after being placed on injured reserve in late August.

Sherels holds a handful of franchise records for punt returns and he may be back in that role. Wide receiver Chad Beebe has been handling that job, but he went on injured reserve Tuesday after tearing ligaments in his ankle.

The Vikings also waived linebacker Devante Downs to create room for the returning players.

 

Marcus Sherels i can understand Laquon Treadwell he's been nothing but a huge disappointment this is just wow WTH is happening in the land of 10,000 lake's

 

Just bad luck. Im glad too for Marcus and Treadwell looked a bit better just before being cut. Kinda forced in to it really... needed body's ASAP and that's what they come up with. Guess we will see what happens in Chicago.

 

Kirk Cousin needs to sit on the bench if Zimmer is not on the hot seat he should be,do Vikings want to win every year it's the same thing the O-line sucks the Bears exposed just how sorry the O-line is it's time for Tricky Ricky to go a rough day for sure,wonder what's it's like in the locker room

 

Thielen is frustrated with the Vikings Offense this is a real bad sign it makes you wonder who else,Dalvin Cook has got to be getting tired of the poor blocking is Zimmer losing the locker room i don't think so but changes need to be made NOW!

 

Kubiak needs to get the o-line back on track and the Vikings need to stick to the game plan and run, baby run or they are in trouble having to rely on Cousins. If anyone has lost the confidence of others its Cousins, but good teammates will rally along and bite the bullet.

If Cousins would stop tryimg to do it all by himself, maybe they would have a chance and he has got to get rid of the ball and release it much quicker or nothing is going to change.

Its still a good team and the Bears will make a lot of teams look silly this season with that great D, but the Vikings need to adapt or cut bait with Cousins. There arnt many options for them to do regarding Kirk, but sometimes you have to eat the crow and move on... those guy's in charge can afford it.

Cousins is average at best right now. Coming into the season I thought he would have at least improved a little from last season, but that hasn't happened even with Cook running. The Vikings are in danger of becoming 1 dementional and that's scary. All teams have to do is shut down Cook and Kirk will implode on his own... oy.

Thank goodness the Vikings have a decent defense still or they could easily be out of it in a week or 2 and still might be.

Im frustrated to man. Something has got to give and something has got to change, ASAP.

 

If you watched Cousins with the skins you would have noticed that he only played good when the skins were pretty much out of contention. He was great when there was no pressure because the team didn’t have a chance to do anything. When the skins had something to play for he disappeared . The higher the expectations the worse he plays.

 

I’m thinking back to the Cuz’s FA run and thinking bad... bad... bad...bad... bad... , what exactly did he accomplish in DC? Nada. His stats are forever mediocre. He now has weapons out the hoo-haa and still can’t gitterdun. The Vikes are a perplexing bunch.

 

I think the original thought by the Vikings in regards to Cousins was when he has a legit offensive line and weapons, he was going to be good, at least improved enough to carry this team... that idea so far has imploded.

 

It makes sense to think that way. On paper it looks really good.

Stefon Diggs situation is puzzling, to say the least. Maybe they can trade him for Tom Brady?

 

I don't what to make of it this, really not a good sign first Thielen now Diggs it seems like a hot mess is starting oh man i hope not

 

I was just on VIKINGS web site Diggs didn't sound to happy,does he want to be traded he was very mysterious about it maybe he's just tired of crappy qb's overthows or behind the wr and having a weak azz O-line every fricking year

 

The team is not all on the same page and losing like this is not helping.

Contrary to popular belief, I believe Cousins needs more reps through the air. He must get the receivers in the ballgame. Kubiak is to blame also, he has the Vikings 1 dimensional right now and with Minnesota's weapons, that isn't setting too well with the players.

Thielen is miffed, Diggs wants out and now Rudolph has been commenting on his 'blocking a lot' role, while the whole time Kirk cant find or get into a rythem.

Vikings need balance and right now they don't have it and are in disarray.
