It is, now. Let's get after it. Last year's Tampa game gave most people faith that Trubisky had the goods, and many leaned on it even as recently as the season opener this year. While I think that Tampa's defense was bad, and made Trubisky look good, at least the team got a convincing win. Let's see if Trubs can play similarly well against the Redskins tonight, and give the team some similar momentum.
Since I don't always get to watch the games I get a little thrill from creating the game threats. Tonight's the night!
Bobby Massie is not active for the game. He wasn’t on injury report. And he hasn’t looked as bad as Leno so that is a puzzlement. Eddie Dinero will be playing after a knee injury scare on Friday. People keep talking about the Tampa game last season but last season Week 3 Bears were on the road vs a horrible team (the Cardinals) and barely won with Mitch and the offense putting up their third stinker in a row. I am hoping the progress promised this season means the offense gets its shit together after only 2 stinkers. Go Bears!
The Bears have lost 13 of their last 15 meetings with the Redskins, with our last win coming back in 2003....
Fuck, Cornelius Lucas. I never thought I'd say this, but - I miss Bobbie Massie. Allen Robinson's contract is $15 million, completely non-guaranteed, next year. If you had asked me who a prime cut candidate was, I would've told you that there's no way he's on the team next year. Then I watched three games of him rescuing his QB play in and play out. What is Trubisky going to do without this guy? Was that not a facemask on Montgomery, on that short catch? Nagy has Trubisky throwing scripted plays to his first read. He's gotta handhold him like he did last year, but... maybe that will be enough?
Nothing down field. Lots of short passes which Trubs can't even throw with accuracy. Nagy has zero faith in his QB.
