Well, Binnington was 26 y.o. last year (I think). The trio you mention are all candidates to be NHL starters (especially UPL!!!), but none of them would surprise the hell outta us like Binnington did.

    I gotta ask... who's UPL?

Binnington really had a dream season... a tough act to follow, even for him.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, (2nd, #54, 2018) Buffalo Sabres: aka: 6K. From Finland, best goalie in the OHL - for the Sudbury Wolves.

I'm just more or less talking about a goalie that unexpectantly wins the starting role and dominates to the point where their team gets to the post-season but not necessarily win the cup. In the leafs case it would take freddy going down. The three I mention shouldn't be considered starters unless UPL is making the team.

    It's the Ken Dryden award.
March.20 1971 Rogie Vachon goes down and up from the minors comes Ken to face his brother Dave for the Sabres. He would go on to lead the habs to SC that year.

Won’t be Woll. He’ll make some very athletic saves but always seemed to grab defeat right out of the clutches of victory. Bad goals on the regular.

Not trying to be a prick but I’m excited to move on from Woll to Spencer Knight.

What are the odds he makes the big club right away?
I’m in the middle of a rolling fantasy draft and debating on whether to make a move to grab him

    Maybe Ian Scott then.

Better odds on that I’d think

I think Woll is a little older and was ranked a little above Scott recently, not that it means anything when it comes to a long shot.

There are a few reasons that I think the odds are against UPL making the Bigs right away are real low:
    - He had off-season surgery (nothing serious) but is not in BUF's training camp.
    - GM Botterill has a well-known preference for the slow-go with prospects. The more he likes 'em, the slower he goes.
    - UPL was a 2018 pick. He's young by anyone's standards. Super young by goalie standards.

He should be good to go for most of Sudbury's season. I expect him to be in Rochester for a year. Hopefully he arrives in time to replace Hutton. (The hopeful context is in the sense that hopefully Huts doesn't suck it up for the next couple of seasons. Linus Ullmark might be o.k., but no one is pinning future SC contention hopes on him.)

    no

He's already got 31 G in the NHL. That's almost as many as Binnington has in his career. He would hardly count as a surprise.
