You sure Kaeprnick is going to be any more helpful in that regard than Lynch is, given he peaked as a player in 2013 and hasn’t played a down of football in almost three years?

A third string QB that’s been out of football 3 years accomplishes that? Off the field crap aside, he wasn’t that good of a quarterback to begin with.

I'd like my chances with Kap more than Lynch. You disagree? Good luck.

He's be a 2nd string QB at WORST (in Pittsburgh and would be a starter for NYJ) if teams would take that stick out dey asses.

Would’ve been in Baltimore last year if he didn’t sabotage that deal. Sorry, don’t want a veteran backup QB with all the drama who can only read half a field. Least Lynch can be stashed on the PS.

Richie Incognito is back with the Oakland Raiders following a two-game suspension for violations of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He’s also set to return to the field for his first meaningful NFL game since the end of the 2017 season when the Raiders take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Incognito said Wednesday he expects the game will be a bit emotional for him after a year away from the game.

“It’ll be emotional for me and my family,” Incognito said, via Michael Wagaman of the Associated Press. “It’s been a long trip to get back here. We’re just checking another box.”

Incognito’s last game was a playoff loss with the Buffalo Bills against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jan. 2018. Since then, Incognito retired, then unretired. Demanded his release from the Bills, which he received, and pleaded guilty to a pair of incidents where he was charged with disorderly conduct.

The Raiders still saw an opportunity by bringing him into the fold this offseason. The prior incidents led to his suspension for the first two games of the regular season.

Incognito is trying to put all of that behind him and is excited to get back on the field with the Raiders this week.

“The suspension’s behind me, all the negative stuff is behind me. Just eyes forward, staying positive,” Incognito said. “Relishing the opportunity, enjoying every day in here because you don’t know how many more you’re going to have. And wanting to play well. Just really want to charge forward and make it right.”

Kap could try to get back in the league at a vet minimum salary. That’s the only way he can get back after three years away.

The Dolphins claimed Charlton off waivers Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Charlton was waived by Dallas on Wednesday after being inactive for the first two games of the season. The 2017 first-round pick now joins a rebuilding Dolphins squad and will work to rejuvenate his NFL career. Across 27 games with the Cowboys, Charlton accumulated just 46 tackles (28 solo), four sacks and one defended pass. He also forced one fumble in 2017 and recovered a fumble in 2018.

Why would they pick him up? Oh never mind, he sucks so he will help them lose 16 games

He's young, inexpensive, plays a premium position, and isn't devoid of talent.

And you win football games with backup QBs?

Again....it's about the media shitstorm that would accompany him.

It's not because he's black. It's not because he kneels.

It's because the baggage he comes with versus the talent he brings......just isn't worth it.

This is a common allegation, but it just doesn't make any sense relative to the evidence the league has given us thus far.

NFL teams want to win - to an extent that they're willing to gamble millions of dollars on players. Very plainly, the QB is the most important position on the field, and every team knows that position can make or break a season. We've seen the largest and riskiest contracts given to these players, accordingly. We've also seen NFL teams completely disregard what players do away from their performance on the playing field - Antonio Brown is an active example, amongst others. And there are countless examples in prior years. "Just win, baby" is a very applicable phrase.

A good example of all of this is Michael Vick. From going to prison, to returning to the NFL, to being a well-paid starting QB, to having the NFL very recently publish a highlight video celebrating his career - the "baggage" never mattered to NFL teams, once his prison sentence was over. Sure, the PR departments had to manage it, and it was certainly a difficult task, but NFL teams were willing to take on the baggage because of what he brought to the playing field - namely, the talent upgrade he presented over alternatives at the league's most important position.

Kaepernick, based on his past performance, has presented a talent upgrade over starters at the NFL level every year since the moment he was a free agent. These have included starters forced into the role due to injury, or those who just weren't very good to begin with and proved that in short order.

Tim made the oft-repeated argument that he wants too much money, but I've watched NFL teams throw stupid money at bad QB's hoping it'd work out on plenty occasions. More importantly, I've watched plenty of Super Bowl-bound teams derailed because of sub-par QB play (I'm looking at you, Chicago).

So, the argument is that a team is willing to virtually throw away their chance of winning a Super Bowl due to: A. the cost of Kaepernick, and B. the media attention Kaepernick would bring. Considering that teams have shown they're perfectly willing to compromise on either or both of those points on players in the past, I see no validity in this whatsoever.

It is because of the specific issue. It is because of the kneeling. It is because the NFL would rather not piss off so many of the ignorant fans who make up its base. It is because Kaepernick has been blackballed from the NFL. And I'm not one who sees that as some massive injustice I have to crusade against - but I'm also one who sees no basis in denying it.

Sure, we're a few years removed from his playing days, so the argument against him being signed makes more sense now. But it only makes more sense now because in the past, when it made less sense, he was still collectively barred from the league.

Axe-could a change of scenery help him out? Not saying Dallas was a bad spot for him but sometimes a player and team just doesn't work out? Could a new team help him, even as bad as Miami ? He was a high pick for a reason?

The league doesn't have to provide any evidence. Why would they?

The starting QB is the most important player on the field.

Kaepernick wouldn't be signed to be a starter. He'd be a backup.

Who wants their backup QB to be the focus of the team? A guy who won't throw a ball outside of practice, barring injury.

Just because one team signed him doesn't mean others weren't scared of the circus.

Probably. But the shit storm he'd come with was definitely not attractive to teams. And when you're completing 59% of your passes in your career and making a lot of money.....how attractive are you?

He originally made a lot of money. And afterwards did say he wanted something close to that.

You're making the assumption that Kaep increases a teams chances of making the Superbowl.....why?

While I have no issue with the kneeling....being against it doesn't make a person ignorant.

If a team wanted to sign him right now they could....and the NFL wouldn't do anything about it.

But this part also leaves out his actual play, the idea that he forced himself out of a contract because he was benched and, if we are talking the present time, the idea that he hasn't played in 3 seasons. There was also the issue within the locker room in San Francisco that would have some GMs second guessing bringing him into the fold, specifically the situation between him and Aldon Smith's girlfriend.

Kaep never averaged over 200 yards passing in a season and, although his TD/INT ratio is solid, he carries a 3-16 record over his last 19 games. A lot of that record came directly from his play and his questionable decision making skills when he was forced to carry the offense.

Colin stepped into the perfect situation and had two solid seasons before the wheels started to come off. The actual player is not near the mythos that has been put on him ever since lines were drawn around political differences.

Was his/is his kneeling still a factor in him not being under contract right now? Absolutely.

Is it the sole reason for why he doesn't take the field on game day? Absolutely not.
