    Fuck.

Happy-footed QB that stares down receivers? Check.

OC that outsmarts himself all night? Check.

    Shaky special teams? Check.

Great defense going to waste? Check.

Fuck. I’m starting to realize that this team just isn’t worth the energy. Same shit different year. Every fucking year. Tired and sick of it.

    Yep.

We’ve seen this movie too many times before and it’s awful.

Well i refuse to get overly excited until i see at least one more game and certain elements of said game that need to have a complete 180 before i climb out on the ledge.

Ginny! You old son of a bitch how are you! Takes a fuckathon like that to drag you out the woodwork? Damned near worth it!

What up Ev....I'm good man, you?

Ha, i was feeling pretty good at the end of the 1st Q when they flashed the stat showing the Packers with -12 (or something) total offense. I just have a hard time believing that the "lack of pre-season" playing time is the culprit. These are professional NFL players...........they should be ready!!!

I will say this though....the defense was ready.

Glad you're doing well buddy. Hey did you ever have any success with the Square2Square golf swing you were going to try? I remember us discussing the subject, always wondered if anything came of it.

I tried it at the range for a couple weeks and was hitting everything fat so i walked away from it. I did make one adjustment to my setup that has helped quite a lot and that was the way I gripped the club. Back when i first started playing golf about ten years ago, I read that if you have a tendency to slice, to rotate your right hand to the right (for RH) with thumb behind shaft to strengthen your grip. That's how iv'e always played and have never been consistent, left, right, but mostly right.

So i went to a natural grip and also changed from interlock to overlap and it has helped quite a bit. Since then i have shaved 5 strokes off my score.......now low to mid 80's. Broke 80 for the first time a couple months ago (79). Can finally keep up, well sort of, with the guys i play with who all have handicaps of scratch to 4-5 (for 18 holes!!!). It's fun watching those guys trade money, they bet on EVERYTHING.

    How's your game man?

Not Ev obviously but I also took a “strong” grip like you describe Ginny and it cut my slice down, but as I’ve gotten better I’ve had to open it up, particularly on the irons. My problem is all tempo and the stronger grip just masks that.

But then again I shoot in the low hundreds ya bastard, having only broken a hundred a few times. But I play with dudes at my skill level so it’s still a good time, and we play fast. They say the game is dying yet I’m constantly waiting on the tee box heh.

When I was a kid my dad taught me the overlap grip, and then years later when I went golfing with my friends they all used the interlock and I thought what kind of fuckery is this that my dad taught me?
I also had to drag that bag of clubs from hole to hole. When I asked my dad if he could rent a hand cart for me he says "If I do you'll lose your amateur standing" I didn't even know what the fuck amateur standing was, but I knew damn well I didn't want to lose it.

I went from an interlock to overlap grip about 20years ago and never changed back. I've always felt its gives more flexibility in your swing, especially if you need to come up real high when in thick rough or those nasty pot bunkers you get round here. Those sound like some very respectable scores ginny, i know a lot of low-mid single figure h'cappers, as long as you can play to a 10-12 handicap they'll play with you, but for some of us thats easier said than done heh.

Between work and family i struggle hugely to find the time these days tbh. I love it when i have clients over from the states because it means i have to go and play golf, which actually happened last month when i had a bunch of different people of over. Played 4rounds of golf(and some monstrous all day drinking sessions) in the space of 2 weeks. One of them we had a 7.40am tee off time on The Old, the hip flasks were out by the 2nd tee and we only waited that long cos the 1st tee would've been a real no no. Before that i hadn't picked up a club since mid May.

As you'd expect when you're not playing much my scores were all over the place. Failed to break 100 twice(both high wind days) but also had an 81 and an 84.

"Good point dad, best hire me a golf buggy instead then. Pros aren't allowed those and you wouldn't wanna risk my amateur status over a few bucks would ya?" : )))

This is awesome and something I have done but only about 40 years ago, and certainly nothing to attempt now. We used to go from closing down a 4:00 am bar to the course after a solid night of drinking and wait for the sun to come up to tee off, but there is no way in hell I could do that now, None.
There was also a forest preserve golf course that was always closed on Wednesdays where we would hop the fence and play a few holes and then run into the forest when confronted by a groundskeeper.

Sounds like your Dad knew what he was doing...

TBH, I learned a lot playing with these guys, and they are all gracious enough to offer advice...and i take all that i can get...

If I remember right, Ev runs the course?

I wish that were true, it would make it a hell of a lot easier to get a tee time heh. But no. I work in the industry but have no direct link to The Old, other than being a member of the St Andrews Golf Club which looks right over the 18th Green.

Speaking of which, my offer of golf is still open if you ever make your way up there. Any chance in October when you hop the pond for the Raiders game?

Thank you @tunafat for affording me this very generous opportunity!!

It's been very painful for me, over the last few years to not be able to tailgate and cheer for the team that I really like except for the colour of the uniforms which suck. Living in this frozen wasteland of a country is hard enough without adding the injustice of not even getting 99.9999% of the games on tv. When I yell at the game (if and when I actually get to watch) my voice echoes over frozen ice dunes that surround my house and I feel as if I am completely alone.
To be honest, I don't hate Mongo. I don't hate anyone really. Well with a few obvious exceptions (looking pointedly in a certain someone's general direction ). How about if we stick "The atomic number of chromium Jets: The atomic number of neon" right where the sun don't shine?

One day. Hopefully before I die, I'll make it to the field to watch them play.

Did you ever get that burning sensation that someone is staring at you? I have that right now, Oh wait, Nevermind that is a completely different subject for a completely different thread. ;)
