Maybe they can bring Hue Jackson back as an advisor

Pretty sure some Stooler fan kidnapped Freddy and held him in a trunk somewhere. that was Hueless coaching today . even his teams weren't that undisciplined .

At least the hype train can STFU now .

I can't believe how piss poor the Browns played today...

Can only speak for myself, but I'm embarrassed.

Too much hype? Probably. Understandable given the team's history combined with recent performance/personnel moves? Absolutely.

And don't be embarrassed, you shouldn't be. It was a 2 point game approaching the end of the 3rd Q then things spiraled and got away from them. The scoreline doesn't tell the story of that game imo.

There's undoubted talent on the team, the opening drive was a thing of beauty. What killed them was the penalties, which a lot of times occurred themselves because of a distinct general lack of composure. Robinson's ejection was completely idiotic, i hope he stood up in front of his team mates after cos he owed them an apology.

My question to you would be do you think this coaching unit has the strength to control that locker? I don't know a lot about Kitchens really so can't say. If the answer is yes then don't sweat it too much. Its 1 game, they'll be back, having learned from this game. But if the answer is no thats a big problem. Things could get very ugly as happened to my Bears in 2013-14 under Marc Trestman.

Hugely disappointing opener. Very undisciplined football by the Browns yesterday. The penalties were ridiculous. The offensive line is obvious reason for concern. How they bounce back from a performance like that will be very interesting. We didn't look anywhere near ready for primetime yesterday, and a date with the Jets on MNF is next.

There's no question in my mind that Freddie Kitchens is a better coach than Hue Jackson. But that's not setting the bar very high. (Kinda like saying he's a better coach than Marc Trestman.)

But, to be honest, after yesterday some doubts are starting to creep in. I know . . . It was only one game. But it was a HUGE game on so many levels and to witness what I watched yesterday gave me pause. Hopefully Freddie and the rest of the team can rebound from that debacle and start coaching and playing up to their potential.

As the thread says in the title: buckle up... because this will be a ride this season.

This game was truly disappointing - mostly because I've talked *way* too much junk for this team not to back me up like that. Ultimately, it came down to two things: immaturity and experience. The good news is - both things can be improved upon. This wasn't like watching a Hue Jackson led team because they showed flashes of the team we know they can be - hell, they hung around by two points through three quarters despite being outplayed the entire time - a big nod to their level of talent.

Offensive Line: if our starting left tackle doesn't kick another man in the head, he stays in that game and we don't have to trot out a freshly-signed Kendall Lamm who promptly gets hurt and move an average right tackle (Hubbard) to the left side and bring in a guy we'd literally days earlier traded for to play right tackle. Robinson kicked another player because his emotions got the better of him.

Penalties: if a team can hang around by two points until the wheels finally fall of in spite of 20 penalties and a near-NFL record 182 yards, guess what... they clean those up and they can win. Several of those penalties, especially the personal foul variety, were due to immaturity. Myles Garrett threw a punch. Jermaine Whitehead - roughing the passer on a dumb decision . Shelton Richardson - roughing the passer on a dumb decision. Tennessee's second drive (resulting in a 1-yard TD run by Henry) was facilitated by four penalties for first down and the Browns' defense out gained the Titans offense 45-42 in yards.

Overall Defense: do I think lack of preseason reps was the issue? No. I think there just wasn't cohesiveness overall. Plenty of teams with good defenses played sloppy football yesterday. What we saw that was the bigger issue was linebackers over-pursuing, tackles being missed, cornerbacks have a bad day, and a defensive line that couldn't get pressure on a depleted Titan's front five. Kudos to the offensive coordinator for taking Myles Garrett's pass rush out of the equation for most of the game (yes, I understand he was being held every play - same story as last season).

Overall Offense: I think Coach Kitchens' immaturity as a head coach was part of it, certainly. They should have had a heavy dose of Chubb. They also should probably script more ahead of time. The first drive (88 yards, TD) and the first two drives after halftime (40/76 yards, punt/TD) were the best drives of the game. The offense came unglued in the fourth quarter when they were pressing too much, Mayfield was clearly hurt (had x-rays on throwing had after the game), and the play-makers were trying too hard to make plays.

They've got an extra day to get ready for New York. How they respond next Monday will tell us *WAY* more about this team than the loss yesterday did.

The offense has got to get their confidence back and get in sync so they can execute as a unit. Easier said than done, but good teams are expected to make the necessary changes and adapt accordingly.

I hope the best for you guys against the Jets. This might be more of a barometer than the opener against the Titans.

Some think a 16 game season is a long season, im of the opposite opinion. Not time to panic after 1 game, but sure as hell time to make some changes as you don't want to start 0-2 in that division. Good luck, I'll be tuned in for sure.

It's a dumb rule, but it's the rule. Shame on Freddie if he doesn't deploy this 5-6 times per game after seeing it live Sunday:
    1. Setup the RB screen
    2. Coach offensive line to tackle defenders
    3. Profit

    1. The world needs more Pat McAfee reviews
    2. Titans player "clearing the pile" after the play is low, not "kicked in the freaking face"-worthy, but lame nonetheless

I saw Robinson's presser, where he claims "not to have been trying to kick the guy". Excuse me?

I'd like Freddie to impress on this undisciplined group, to shut up, and to stop excusing yourselves. I don't want to hear it, period.

Just do your job. Where have I heard that beforre?

So our diva WR OBJ is more worried about wearing a fucking watch ??? STFU and play you got your collective asses handed to you .I hated the Zeitler trade when I first saw it. now after the opener I really hate it . Also when I saw the trade for the headcase I wasn't thrilled with that one either . Dorsey you MORON you win in the trenches .

  19. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

The media drew attention to Odell's choice to wear a watch.
He led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. He played through injury.
Zeitler had a bad game and was knicked up in the Giants game. Eric Kush was not the problem in Sunday's game. Chris Hubbard being moved out of position to left tackle and Justin McCray - a guard - playing right tackle after joining the team mid-week via trade were.
Relax. Odell Beckham isn't a "headcase". He didn't force his way off a team, smoke his way into suspensions, hit a kid, hit a woman, or sexually assault anyone. He's a supremely talented wide receiver who's thus far been one of the best receivers in NFL history to this point in his career.

We've been having kicking issues all season... maybe that was his audition for a dual-role on the team like Lou Groza?
