AB made millions with the Steelers, he can afford to blow off any and all moneys from this situation, in my opinion. Money to a person like him may not be 'all that'.

Honest question. What do you think he's looking for? He played for a contender. He blew it. I'm not sure the Pats or any team worth their mettle takes him.

I just don't see any type of plan here. Maybe he just quits. Who knows? His behavior is so erratic that is hard to tell.

Money is everything to AB. He shot his way out of Pittsburgh when there was no guaranteed money left on his deal. He dictated the trade to Oakland by refusing to go to Buffalo and signing a fat new deal with the Raiders. Then when that guarantee went away, he shot his way out of there, too.

    Like anything else...follow the money.

I think you nailed it when you said he's erratic behaviorally. I don't know whats in his head, but money isn't probably an issue. He's nuts and smart enough to be dangerous.... he might even thrive on the attention, even if its negative. He's also not alone... I tend to think there are nuts in every facet of life, lol. (I know, takes one to know one).

He got himself in trouble with his mouth and didn't quite know how to get out of it. Once he saw the Raiders wernt playin games he hit the panic button, like how dare they treat me like this. He met his match in Oakland.

One thing's for sure. The Steelers got a couple of picks for nothing. In retrospect, I'm glad he's not in Pittsburgh anymore.

Now I can sit back and enjoy the show.

Yeah, but conniving to what end? How, in any way, is this all "conniving"? If he really didn't want to play in Oakland, not only did he have numerous opportunities prior to this to determine his situation, but he could've worked his way out of there so much better than he did.

Now, the team has a legitimate reason not to give him one single dollar, he's shown plenty of very public crazy to every other team, while giving legitimate questions over his health / ability (feet and helmet obscuring his vision)... Didn't he buy a house out on California?

I'm just not seeing "conniving". I'm seeing "crazy" and a bunch of people trying to attribute some kind of rationale to his crazy.

Per Adam Schefter and others. AB and the Patriots have agreed to a 1 year $15M contract... I cant believe it... details to follow.

    Per ; PFT

It didn’t take long for Antonio Brown to find a new home.

Brown was released by the Raiders on Saturday morning and agent Drew Rosenhaus said he’d go to work on finding his client a new place to play. Rosenhaus told PFT on Saturday afternoon that Brown has agreed to terms with the Patriots.

It’s a one-year deal worth up to $15 million with a $9 million signing bonus.

Brown cannot play against his former team on Sunday night as the Patriots’ roster is locked for the matchup with the Steelers. The signing becomes official on Monday.

Many wondered if the move would be coming as the Patriots have taken chances on players who have fallen out of favor with other teams in the past. Some of those moves — Corey Dillon, Randy Moss — have worked out while others — Chad Johnson, Albert Haynesworth — have not been as successful.

Watching to see how this one works out after Brown forced his way out of Oakland without playing a snap for the team will be one of the biggest storylines of the 2019 season. If it does work out and Brown plays to his old form, the Patriots offense is going to be a tough one to stop this year.

Because he likely thought he could waltz into the start of the season getting hi guaranteed millions doing as he pleased, got told otherwise and said “fuck it, I’m out”.

Which would be nuts to think you could do that, but if he never really wanted to be there it doesn’t matter when he gets signed to another roster.

He took a swing at having his cake and eating it, missed and now he’s moving on.

AB signs with New England... wow.

  14. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

I don't ever attribute someone losing $21 million in guaranteed money to them being "conniving". Maybe it's just me.

  15. dirk275 Franchise Player Steelers

Well I guess you called it. Those tweets that he posts that border on unreadable due to the prose of a meth addicted four year old fooled us all.

  16. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

I agree with all of that. Except I don't see any of that as "conniving". Signing a historic contact, assuming you can do whatever you want, throwing multiple fits when you can't, and then losing out on all of that money only to take less elsewhere (where you still won't be able to do whatever you want to do)... feels a lot more like the actions of a spoiled child than a conniving adult. The former does things spur of the moment based on short sighted desires. The latter does things with a plan.

I don't see how anyone can allege that AB had a plan, or anything of the like. That's what I'm saying, here.

This is some scripted soap opera bullshit.

And yet Colin Kaepernick can't even get a league minimum pay back up QB job.

  19. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

You're assuming his "plan" revolved around money. He's already made a few bucks in Pittsburgh, but he never got a ring there.

Let's face it. The guy's an idiot.

    1 year $15M contract ?

I'll be NE will be telling him "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out" at the end of the season.
