- Pagano came to play. So did Roquan, Mack, RRH, Floyd, Jackson, Fuller, and most of the Bears defensive unit. - Nagy didn't. Neither did Trubisky. Or the Bears offensive line. - 33 straight pass plays called to end the game by Nagy when you count negated plays. Montgomery ran the ball 1 time in the 2nd half with the Bears trailing by less than a touchdown most of the way. Cohen ran the ball 0 times all night. - 3rd and short and you line up in an obvious run formation....with Cordarelle Patterson as your back. And you run a simple up the gut play. And you're surprised it didn't work? Isn't that what Mike Davis gets paid for? Isn't Montgomery known as a tough runner that can get those short yards? - Awful OPI call on the Bears on a crucial drive. Didn't have much of an issue with the zebras outside of that. GB got away with a lot of holding but you get used to seeing that when you have a stellar pass rush. Teams have no choice but to hold and it won't get called all the time. - Trubisky was straight up garbage. No other way to put it. Just bad bad bad. Moses Moreno....Chad Hutchinson....Johnathan Quinn...Mike Glennon bad. This offense has no hope with that type of play under center. - I'm all in on the no preseason rep thing. I hate preseason and I get not taking the risk. But a guy like Mitch could use some of those reps. He needs them. Rodgers can sit with his thumb up his ass all offseason and walk onto the field and light it up. Mitch can't. - This being a home game against a division rival...in light of how hard the rest of the schedule could be...was a must win in my book. - The last time I went from this optimistic to this pessimistic in one night on a Bears season is the year we traded for Cutler and then watched him throw 5 picks and watched Urlacher get hurt and out for the season against this same fucking booger green and piss yellow Packer team. - Is Virginia McCaskey dead yet? Because she should be. And I hope her will states all the McCaskeys have to be buried alived with her. Sell the fucking team you lousy pieces of shit.
The Packers played like shit last night but the Bears played much worse. All the media excitement about Trub was a lie. He's not ready for this big of a league.
I will refer to what Alex Brown said in the pregame " I guarantee you NE and NO will be ready to play and their QB's are Hall of Famers and 40 years old , they played in the preseason and Mitch didn't " This was a huge factor no matter what Nagy says .... He's not smarter than those to HC's like he thinks he is . 1- The D is elite barring injuries they will be at the top of the list come seasons end . 2- The O has regressed , 1st game, last game, whatever they looked like they never played together last night ( hmm it was like 200 days ago they did sorry ) - Nagy still tries to run the offense with gimmicks , first play of the game on O was a prime example - Nagy refuses to run the ball , this is a trend and don't see anything changing - Nagy doesn't have a fn clue how to get a 3rd and 1 ... seriously Patterson is in the backfield on 3rd and 1 ?? and is Patterson even part of the game plan ?? - Mitch can't read the field , it becomes more evident on every single game played - O line , can we get a holding call please ?? - Why not go for the 51 yd FG ?? Nagy says the ST coach said no chance and they can break away from their thinking , just can't do it ?? WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate to live in the past , better to live in present and look to future but the QB who should be playing for the Bears is playing in Houston right now and they unfortunately can't be changed till they draft another QB .
1) I'll start with the good. All things considered this defense is going to be alright. They played a heck of a game, and I saw plays from Skrine I liked. Clinton Dicks had 5 tackles for loss too. The front 7 was mean, and the unit and Chuck Pagano are not a concern. They get an B+ from me. They need takeaways. 2) The bad. Mitch Trubisky is Blake Bortles. Go on, change my mind. I still have patience, but performances like this and this team wont be able to sniff 500. He was garbage, plain and simple; and the packers made him look stupid. The pundits are all jumping on "he needed preseason," which I don't agree with. Rams starters didn't play last year's preseason and they started 8-0. This offense didn't show up and got embarrassed short of Allen Robinson, the flashes of Montgomery we saw, and Cohen. 3) Bobby Massie had problems. Leno had problems. James Daniels had problems. The Smiths on the packers are smarter and faster than Clay and Nick Perry. 4) 10 penalties for 107 yards. Disgraceful. You dont win games like that, 5) The bears need a tight end. Shaheen is not impressive, and I saw enough of Ben Braunecker when Frodo was calling plays in 2017--but he's still on the team. Big money Burton cant get on the field, and transformation project Bradley Sowell is on the roster, but I didn't see him last night. Jermaine Gresham and Luke Wilson are available. They by no means are long-term answers but at this point, not trying to be 'sky is falling' but this is going to be a problem position. 6) Nagy got cute again, abandoning the run and look what happened. 7) Credit to Erin Rodgers, however watching him play; I think he's clearly regressed akin to Favre. He holds onto the ball and had a few bum throws the bears didn't take advantage of. 8) Bears will face a tougher defense next week and human statue Joe Flacco behind a patchwork, hit/miss Oline. The only thing I want Nagy to do is work on Mitch getting rid of the ball quickly the way Philly did in the playoffs, because I don't trust Leno or Massie (even with help) against Chubb and Von Miller.
https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/list/all/chicago-bears 20 of 26 completions behind, at, or within 7 yards of the LOS. Way to stretch it and keep em honest, Nags. These two assholes were like a troglodytic organ grinder and a chromosomally defective monkey last night. It’s hard to say which one is to blame because they were both so pathetic. I just hope they fully shit the bed while the weather is still good so I can fish and golf on Sundays.
The pundits are all jumping on "he needed preseason," which I don't agree with. Rams starters didn't play last year's preseason and they started 8-0. This offense didn't show up and got embarrassed short of Allen Robinson, the flashes of Montgomery we saw, and Cohen. The Bears don't have as much talent on Offense as the Rams , Mitch is not in the same class as Goff so not sure the comparison is relevant .
The Bears aren’t even in the same galaxy on offense as the Rams. And I’m not even a huge Goff fan. THAT’s how bad Trubisky is. That and we don’t have Todd Gurley. But if we did, he’s probably on the sidelines with a minute left with 6 carries under his belt and Eddie Goldman under center with Mitch out wide and Piniero in the backfield.
Hey BWW, where’s your alter ego/girlfriend Mongo? Can’t wait to get a look at those All 22’s so I can puke all over myself.
Probably pegging a ladyboy in Asia somewhere. I’m interested in seeing the All 22 and seeing how many open receivers Mitch neglected.
Fangio is going to have a field day next week with these two idiots. It’s going to come out looking like a baseball score. 2-0 Denver
1) Crowd was insane. Deafening. Cornelison rocked that place and we didn't shut up until even the dumbest of Bears fans realized how bad the play-calling was. 2) I was wondering if this was as bad to watch on TV as it was in person. Apparently, it may have been worse. 3) As bad a Trubisky played, Rodgers was worse. No, really, he was. Even his 60 yarder was a flopping duck that if we had Amos would have been intercepted.... 4) I feel like I'm in 2006, 2010, 2012, 1993, 2001 all over again. Dominating defense. Complete shit offense. Why in the living fuck can this team not figure this out????? 5) With that said, this was game 1 and given our genius HC refuses to play our offense in pre-season, this is what you get. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to the prevention of injuries and hope that we play a SHIT TON better next week. Fuck, I'm even more pissed tonight than I was last night.
RPO....is an option. If you're calling an RPO....you're giving the QB that you're supposed to be able to trust to read the defense the option to pass, run, or handoff. If you wanted to call a run......then.....CALL A FUCKING RUN!
Morning after the morning after thoughts: Our o-line won't play as badly as they played Thursday night for the rest of the season. I'm confident in that. Nagy is too smart to not put a bigger emphasis on the run game going forward. I'm confident in that. Mitch is still young and learning and will only get better. I'm confi.... fuck it Mitch sucks. This is why we're screwed.
