Not really sure where the 4 losses for Cleveland are happening in that crystal ball, but I'd take it.....

I've got the Browns at 13-3 with the three losses coming against New England, Los Angeles, and then one within the division (either Baltimore, or Pittsburgh). And I'm even struggling to give them the 'L' against New England since they get the BYE week to prepare...

This is great! I should sit down and put some thought behind it for myself.

For the record over the last 5 years only two AFC teams have achieved a record of 13-3 or better:

    2016 NE 14-2
    2017 NE 13-3
    2017 Pittsburgh 13-3

I'd be happy just to get to an average of 500 between the last two years and this one combined.

That would require us to go at least 18-1-0 (25-25-1). I would be happy with that, as well.

That's an indication of exactly how ugly 0-16 is if it takes 2 to 3 YEARS just to break even. Thanks, Hue.

So you're saying we just need an undefeated 19-0 Super Bowl Champs season then?

I say why not. Already tied Detroit for the worst season record ever so I see no reason why they shouldn't tie the 1972 Dolphins with a perfect season and a trophy to show for it as well.

(Only being slightly facetious. Crossing fingers and praying for this.......please, please, please, please......)

Pretty hard to believe with New England playing in the softest division in sports and Pittsburgh getting two "freebies" against Hue Jackson's 2017 Browns squad.

That's an even better point. The Browns aren't playing in the AFC East and they aren't getting any freebies in the AFC North. 13-3? Seems pretty unlikely to me.

The AFC North has both Cincinnati and Baltimore. Cleveland and Pittsburgh should come out of the North with 5-1 records in 2019.

    So 12-4 it is....;)

That would match the last year that I had season tics, 1986. Also happens to be the best record the Browns have put up in the SB era....

As mentioned earlier. I'd take that...

One tie during the season, a couple of post season wins and we're even. Yeah, that's the ticket to evening out the 3 years. Sounds fair to me.

Hey we suffered for a very very very long time, maybe the football gods give us a nod this year.

Truth be told, the incredible talent amassed, and the hype has me excited. At the same time, the long record of failure has me anxious. The culmination of so many many inventive ways of losing won't just go away, even in the face of this clearly talented and motivated team of young stars.

I suspect it will be that way all year: mounting excitement with every win, coupled with the haunting thought of something awful undermining us in some bizarre way.

I promise God. I'll go to church every week. Don't pull the plug on us. Please!

I have the Browns at 10-6 and losing to the Steelers in the AFCCG at Pittsburgh.

Having the Browns and Steelers face off in the AFCCG would be a huge charge to getting this rivalry back to the level of its glory days.

Although you've got the venue wrong.

And the Steelers already lost in the Wild Card game in San Diego.

Pittsburgh is pissed because the Browns are getting all the press, and they're like "hey you know we've won for a long time".

    Exactly!

This is a great thread and I admire all of you Browns fans your confidence and hope! There's a lot to be said for the power of positive thinking and having good talent on your team.

    I hope y'all have a great season!

This really isn't accurate - at least in my case. I've always thought the Steelers played better when they were flying under the radar. Not nearly as good when they are considered a "Super Bowl favorite". So this season is setting up perfectly for me. I just happen to disagree with the so-called experts. I think there's a lot more to winning than throwing a bunch of talent in a room together and history bears that out. We've seen it over and over again. Doesn't mean the Browns can't play well. Just think it's foolish to say this team is a Super Bowl contender because they added some talented players. So many things go into winning in the NFL and then you need to have a bit of luck on your side too.
