I love this! I just happened to be stuck in the kitchen baking and cooking again for a party tonight and I was listening to music on my speaker so I just clicked play on your friend's song and I love it!
Yeah my metal days are over lol, however they do have a tight sound if you're into that type of shit. The three songs that follow it are quite different although I do like indifference. When he was in town a couple of years ago at a BBQ we're talking about the process of recording and how it's changed over the last 50 years from analog to digital. Mind you he's in his 30's and he didn't really know some of the hardships we went through back then and the costs of the equipment back then, and how some of my vintage equipment is so sought after to this day.
He's 30? I didn't think they still made 30 year olds ... LOL I like the song a lot. I have never been a heavy metal fan. Like EVER. Give me some Pink Floyd or Stones or Lynyrd or anything but metal.
I give your choice 100 stars Tim! Love that song, melody, artist ... the whole shebang! Another one that I really dig is this one. We used to play this in the band I was in. It just makes me feel like ... raising sand! ♫
Nice ginny I Always loved Trower since Procol Harum, but those comparisons to Hendrix are apparent in this song.
Here's an idea going forward when you post a song tell us about it what it means to you, tell us why it was worthy or memorable other than being just a good song. Maybe it had an impact on your life or maybe it just reminded you of a different time or someone you were with at that particular time. Music can often be a snapshot of your soul, and if you feel it I want to feel it too. I know you're probably thinking well fucking tuna's drunk again and well he probably is because he's rambling, but let me ask him, Yep! he's fuckin' drunk. I consider us all family here even the morons that root for other teams as long as you're not an asshole I got your back too in everything outside of football if that makes sense. I just thought sometimes you hear a song that takes you back to another time and I want to relive it with you by listening to that song it gives the listening part more meaningful and therefore I can put it in perspective. So with that said I'll start. Back around 1970 I was camping with my parents and my fucking brother at a campground in Manitou Springs Colorado I was 13 at the time and all the kids used to hang out in the game rooms of the campgrounds. I put Sugar Mountain on the jukebox and it got this hot fucking blond's attention. I can't remember her name for the life of me just that she was from Tulsa Oklahoma. My brother was 2 years older and was a fucking chick magnet (fucking bastard) but I digress I remember making out with her in the pool the next day, we had exchanged addresses and maintained correspondence for a while, but those stamps just got too expensive with no job and no way to travel I determined it was pointless. In retrospect, I've determined that I am an idiot. However, every time I hear this song comes on it brings me back to that time and always makes me smile.
That's a cool idea tuna! Okay, I'm in. I just got home from my bike ride to N'Awlins and Memphis and one night we were sitting in little shithole barbecue joint in Louisiana and this song came on the radio. I really dig these guys. This song reminds me of one of the best nights of our trip. Loud music, girls falling over dancing with drunken men, yelling and cursing but so much love between all of the bikers in the bar. Very cool.
So Memphis was an absolute eye-opener. I love to learn and I love history. Getting a sense of the importance of all history while we sauntered or staggered up and down the street, stopping in for drinks at almost every bar (Coyote Ugly was closed for some reason) and enjoying the vibe on Beale St. and over to Mulberry St. in 105 temperatures to visit the Lorraine Hotel and the Civil Rights Museum. It actually made me feel really sad and introspective. What an incredible museum.
I like Shinedown and their song Second Chance as I recently tried singing that one but because of lack of lung capacity lol I can't sustain that upper range consistently. I really need to quit smoking shit that doesn't get me high. Here's another one, Susan put me on the spot one day and asked me what song reminded me of her, and I thought about it a minute and Matchbox 20 was out about that time and I said 3am because of how she always looked out for me and it seemed right because we were always working at that particular time. It wasn't until years later after listening to Rob Thomas's acoustic version of this song and his explanation did it truly hit me. So this is and will always be our song.
