This is not a drastically important game and it won't tell us the full picture of what to expect this season, or likely even half, but it is Ravens football and it will finally be played again today. Prepare for all the negatives and positives to be overblown for over a week as fans and analysts will see Lamar Jackson on the field, for likely only one drive. This time tomorrow, he will either be a bust that sets the franchise back or the next Ravens hall of famer, and it's already funny to me. What I will be looking forward to seeing is how a few unknowns play tonight. Miles Boykin, Jaleel Scott, Chris Board, Antoine Wesley, Gerald Willis, and Davon Mack will be the most intriguing to me, in terms of first and second year non QBs that aren't proven (for example. Andrews has proven enough. On the veteran side, I can't wait to see Earl Thomas, Tim Williams, Tyus Bowser, Shane Ray, Pernell McPhee and Anthony Averitt. Notice the amount of pass rushers? We have huge question marks there and at LG (although I think LG will figure itself out and surprise folks). Either way, the 2019 race starts doing practice laps today. Strap yourselves in boys and girls, it's going to be a fun ride
I'm going to be curious how vanilla we run the offense tonight. Will the keep things hidden to keep teams guessing leading into the season? I think we see a td from one of the big receivers tonight - Boykin, Scott, or Wesley.
I will be shocked if this O scheme is anything but cookie cutter as shit. I think they will let lamar stretch his legs a bit but play it very safe. I am more interested to see how our D line does, mostly because i am a tad bit concerned by our rotational depth. I am purchasing the nfl pass so i will be able to rewatch this game and actually focus on what is going on. You can already see how they are trying to account for what lamar CAN do and it is allowing for a split second of time extra for us to execute. Also, hi. 2k
Wormley had tremendous penetration straight up the A gap i think on that play, i am not sure if the guard blew his assignment or if it was a good play or both 2k
Can we just get the 3 points everytime Tucker has to kick anything below 54 yards? I love that man. 2k
I don't care how this challenge ends up, but I already hate the ability to challenge pass interference.
Yeah maybe it got called back by penalty from a backup olineman, but we still saw it. Boykin had two bad drops, but damn if he doesn't just look like a #1 receiver out there. The Ravens look like they are going to have some very young and dangerous weapons on offense to groom. Hill has gears, and we barely saw our TE utilized. I think Andrews had 2 catches, but I don't know if anyone else got involved. The defense is definitely going to get it's pressure by committee and scheme, but I'm ok with that. Shame on Clark for hotdogging the INT...I mean incomplete pass.
Sadly, I missed the whole game (my lady took me out for my bday. I'd have had her reschedule if it was a regular season game). I did catch highlights and read a few Twitter posts. Looks like Lamar, Boykin, Bowser, Young, and Wormley had good nights. The backup kicker also. Also sounds like Eluemenor lost a grip on his starting position. I gotta find a full replay of the game somewhere
The offense has played sloppy mistake-filled football tonight, but they still have 6 points and probably 10-12 minutes of ToP in the first quarter.
