When are they going to legalize weed but Roc Thomas did act dumb c'mon man grow up

 

Having a truck load of it will get you, 'intent to sell'. He had $16K laying around too... not very wise on his part.

 

He had about 5-6 ounces of weed. WTF do you need to be driving around with that much? I don’t know why the league doesn’t suspend someone in his shoes for longer than the normal suspension? Having some to smoke is one thing, but having enough to get charged with intent to distribute should be much stiffer of a penalty.

The Vikings signed offensive lineman Tiano Pupungatoa to take Roc Thomas‘ roster spot, the team announced Monday. Minnesota waived Thomas, whom the NFL suspended last week for the first three games of the 2019 season.

Pupungatoa participated in the Vikings’ rookie minicamp in May on a tryout basis.

He arrives in Minnesota after spending his collegiate playing career at South Dakota State.

Pupungatoa was a three-year starter at guard for the Jackrabbits and earned third-team AP FCS All-America honors last season as a redshirt senior. He was a member of the offense that set school records in averaging 42.5 points and 480.5 total offensive yards per game.

 

Hope this guy works out the Vikings could use another O-lineman Roc Thomas was his own worst enemy

 

Just a day after releasing running back Roc Thomas, the Minnesota Vikings have claimed running back De'Angelo Henderson off waivers from the Jets. Henderson could find his way into a role behind Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison, and being Minnesota's third-string back might be the best-case scenario for the third-year back. He's not fantasy relevant at this point, but Cook's dealt with injury issues in the past, making Henderson an intriguing deep league option if Cook misses time.

Are there 2 type's of an ACL injury cause Zimmer wasn't very clear about it,i always thought that kind of injury you were lost for the season

 

Well, the Hughes ACL injury happened last season around week 6... they are being cautious with him. I don't know of any other torn ACL injuries on the Vikings. Zimmer did not provide injury updates for Morgan or Zylstra… and the rest should be good to go real soon, except for Bower who has a torn achillies, last I heard.

 

My bad it does mean Tashawn Bower will most likely miss the season,damn Zimmer and his talking and not really saying anything

 

Mike Hughes injury is a multi-ligament ACL injury not quite sure what that means but it sounds really nasty...even if he wants to be on the field don't let him this sounds like this gonna take some time

 

Vikings are looking for a CB.

 

The rankings are in, and former NFL quarterback-turned-analyst David Carr tabbed Kyle Rudolph among the league’s top five tight ends.

Carr created the list for NFL.com and placed the Viking at No. 5. He wrote the following of Rudolph, who signed an extension this spring that will keep him in Minnesota for the foreseeable future:

Rudolph reminds me of Jason Witten when he was in his heyday, and signing him to a four-year extension this offseason was huge for the Vikings. Rudolph has been extremely reliable in starting 104 of 112 games played since he was drafted in the second round in 2011. Over his eight seasons, he’s averaged 9.8 yards per catch and his 41 receiving touchdowns in that span are tied for third most among players selected in the 2011 draft behind only A.J. Green and Julio Jones.

The Vikings added to their tight ends room when they used their second-round draft pick on Irv Smith, Jr., but Carr said that Rudolph “will remain a big part of the offense” for Minnesota.

Carr did not include Witten, who came out of retirement after one season to re-join the Cowboys, in this year’s top 10.

Ranked ahead of Rudolph by Carr were Eric Ebron (Colts) at No. 4, Zach Ertz (Eagles) at No. 3, Travis Kelce (Chiefs) at No. 2. George Kittle (49ers) topped the list. Behind Rudolph were Hunter Henry (Chargers) at No. 6, Vance McDonald (Steelers) at No. 7, Jared Cook (Saints) at No. 8, David Njoku (Browns) at No. 9 and Darren Waller (Raiders) rounding out the list at No. 10.

The Vikings will face Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 9. Carr called him a “fantastic athlete who is always in the right position” and pointed out that Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid “isn’t afraid to split him out wide against a cornerback.”

 

Im hoping to see some of Irv Smith also. I think the drafting of Smith might motivate Kyle to really dig deep and perform well.

 

Mike Zimmer on Vikings doubters: 'I love to prove people wrong'

At this time last summer, the Minnesota Vikings were reigning NFC North champions, fresh off an appearance in the NFC Championship Game. With a shiny new $84 million quarterback in tow and immense talent on both sides of the ball, the 2018 Vikes were garnering Super Bowl buzz.

But the Kirk Cousins-led offense proved inconsistent (leading to the midseason firing of coordinator John DeFilippo), the defense receded from its impenetrable 2017 form, and Minnesota missed the playoffs with a highly unsatisfying 8-7-1 record.

Consequently, in the span of a year, Vikings hype has significantly cooled. And that suits head coach Mike Zimmer just fine.

"I love being doubted," Zimmer told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero earlier this offseason in an interview at his ranch in Walton, Kentucky. "I love to prove people wrong. That's the No. 1 thing for me: Prove people wrong."

That effort will need to start up front on the offensive line. As the NFL's 29th-ranked unit last season, according to Pro Football Focus, Minnesota's O-line got some much-needed reinforcements on the interior this offseason: first-round center Garrett Bradbury and free-agent guard Josh Kline. And the unit has a new position coach in Rick Dennison, who'll be working with new offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski and assistant head coach/zone-blocking maven Gary Kubiak to jump-start the Vikes' attack. Defensively, the Vikings have ranked top-10 in each of the past three seasons in both scoring and total defense. Continuity's key here, and this year's no different, as Minnesota returns 10 starters on that side of the ball (with Shamar Stephen replacing Sheldon Richardson at DT). All in all, the roster appears to be one of the league's most well-rounded. And that's why the heat is most definitely on at this year's training camp in Eagan, Minnesota.

Despite the fact that Zimmer's Vikings have posted the NFC's best winning percentage over the past four seasons (.633, 40-23-1), there's been chatter that this could be a make-or-break year for the head coach and GM Rick Spielman. Zimmer doesn't mind this perception in the slightest.

"Good. Put it on our shoulders," Zimmer said to Pelissero. "Doesn't bother me. Does not bother me. My whole life, I've been the underdog."

Zimmer, who won a Super Bowl as an assistant with the Cowboys and then established himself as one of the NFL's best defensive coordinators, didn't get his first opportunity to be a head coach until age 57. And in a league that's trending younger in the coaching ranks, Zimmer's status as the fourth-oldest head man (behind Pete Carroll, Bill Belichick and Bruce Arians) doesn't go unnoticed. He shot down retirement rumors last December. Now, at age 63, Zimmer doesn't envision hanging up the whistle anytime soon.

"I still feel young and I look young. I haven't really thought about retiring, honestly," Zimmer told Pelissero. "I don't have any doubts I can go to 70."

And the goal remains the same for the man heading this 59-year-old organization without a championship to its name.

"Somebody's gonna win a Super Bowl in Minnesota, and I want it to be me."

With a much improved O-line should make a big difference Capt.Kirk should feel more secure NO EXCUSE,i'm glad there's no SB hype IMO it put to much pressure on them to win...and when it's all over i hope the Vikings are SB Champs got to find away to break this curse

 

Jim Marshall might finally get in the HOF it's loooooong it's over due IMO,if the Vikings would have won a SB he would have been in a long time ago,Chuck Forman ( sp ) and Ed White would be in too...just have to wait and see

 

Vikings to sign veteran CB Bene' Benwikere

After watching their options diminish thanks to injuries and suspensions, the Minnesota Vikings intend to sign free agent cornerback Bene' Benwikere, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Benwikere, who was selected by the Panthers in the fifth round pick in 2014, is expected to have the chance to contribute with second-year corners Mike Hughes (ACL) and Holton Hill (suspension) out of the lineup for the foreseeable future.

The Vikings are still expected to have Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes line up across from opposing receivers once the season kicks off but, outside of those two and Mackensie Alexander, who played in 15 games for the Vikes in 2018, there isn't much depth to speak of.

Benwikere, 27, appeared in 15 combined games last season (11 with the Cardinals, 4 with the Raiders) and contributed 54 tackles, four pass deflections and an interception. The San Jose State product played three seasons in Carolina to begin his career before one-year run with the Cowboys.

 

After reading this they need to sign some CB's the Mike Hughes injury really hurts cause i was expecting big things from him
