Who walks backwards on a treadmill?

Squats with tippy toes, hamstring curls, goddess squats, and lunges will work those muscles out for you. And you won't ever fall down because you tried to walk backwards on a treadmill.

Tore my hamstring about a month ago. I'm going to be in need of some good exercises/stretches to get it back into shape.

Well I don't use a treadmill anymore but I walk backwards when I'm outside...

I can't lie, I have fallen down the odd time. It's part of my genetic makeup.

I've Incorporated a lot of those movements in my yoga program. My clients hate me...

Once you're clear to go....you want to utilize dynamic and eccentric workouts and a lot of stretching. Hamstring curls are great...little to no resistance at first and then adding more resistance when you notice there's no pain. Chair lifts, lunges, prone knee bends.

You want as much flexibility as possible. The number 1 mistake most people make after a hamstring injury is not stretching it off enough because they are afraid to re injure it.

There's video somewhere of Anthony Joshua walking backwards throwing punches to improve his ability to move away and strike for the Ruiz rematch.

I think he's the only boxer I've ever heard of doing that.

It depends on the type of fighter but that's the general rule. Some guys can simply turn their hands over and deliver a serious shot but if you go back and look at the tape of historically great power punchers you can see the torque being developed from their base.

Do you have any kind of musical background?

Damn you Tim. That's very funny. As a matter of fact I do; I play guitar, piano and flute. I also have a voice. Are any of those related to my complete and total incapacity to hit a speed bag more than three times in succession?

    LOL

    lol, it's all about rhythm.

If you can find a beat in your head that gives you a simple measure to hit the bag with you can begin to hear the beat within the reps.

Everything is on a three. You hit the bag, it hits the board, it swings back and hits the board, repeat.

    ba-da-da - ba-da-da - ba-da-da - ba-da-da - ba-da-da - ba-da-da -

    Make sense for a boxer.

For a Canadian yogi....not so much.

Given that he got TKO'd, maybe he should have run backwards.

Defense within the heavyweight division no longer exists.

Then mebbe he should have invested in something to fortify the crystal chandelier he seems to have for a jaw.

I think you are drastically underestimating Ruiz’s power, hand speed and resume.

    Oh man.
Now I can't get that beat out of my head. Maybe I'll practice on Terry when he gets home!

What's the difference between a boxer and a yogi?

And yes this is a trick question... And no, I don't know the answer.

Starting to get into a groove so I added some motions on the weights and upped the amount of time on the speed/heavy bags.

Added in a clean/jerk at 150 pounds, single arm isolation curls at 45 pounds, inclined bench at 185 pounds, single leg squats holding 30 pounds in each arm and flys on the bench with 30 pounds in each hand. I’ll keep the weight pretty even for the first two weeks then I’ll keep changing it to keep from getting comfortable.

I’m at 8 rounds of bag work at 3 minutes with 30/60 second breaks.

That's really impressive Tim! Keeping your weights fluctuating like that will keep your muscles shocked.
