a music festival wow i thought it was something serious,it's a lot to do about nothing

Whatever girl he was there with was being loud and obnoxious. Security intervened aggressively when they shouldn't have. Elliot stepped towards the security guard aggressively, which he shouldn't have. A security guard fell over because he's a s****y security guard. Elliot was blamed for "knocking him over".

    It's total bull****.

You mean AFTER Green Bay set the standard of 2...? Or after the 49ers set the standard of 5...? Stop - there's no such thing as a "standard."

  4. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Agreed. But now if there's some other "bulls**t" incident, he can get called in and The Shield will claim "pattern of behavior," even though there was a big bag of nothing here.

It's disappointing that some troll who has posted 38 times since 2014 has everyone trading barbs.

C'mon guys, we're better than that.

Some good news to report... its exactly 1 week from today a handful of teams open Training Camp with every one shortly thereafter. Wont be long and some real football stuff will be in progress.

We're less than 60 days out from the season's kick-off.

It appears to me that the anticipation for the 2019 season is higher than normal . . . for all fanbases.

I agree… im trying to forget last season and really looking forward to this season. Ive even enjoyed the CFL games this Summer.

Lots of interesting story-lines and high expectations for some teams that were just average and I think the draft pools the past couple seasons have been good for that.

I know as a Steelers, Browns or Bears fan bases, the Vikings, Packers, Ravens, Saints and Cowboys are all well represented here on this site and stoked already to see just how well are respective teams do.

I see great teams, but lots of parody too... some of us are going to be really happy and some not so much. A few of these Divisions, if not most are going to really beat-up on each other in my opinion, so every Sunday is going to be high energy all season long.

It has, indeed, been an interesting off season. Other than your own favorite team (that's a given) or teams within your team's division - Which team are you guys going to keep an eye on this season?

    For me . . . I think it's the Raiders.

{edit} After some more thought . . . It might be the entire AFC West.

Raiders are a good one to watch and my pick would be the Colts.

At 3:25 he just calms down and sticks his hand out in a matter of factly way and says his catch phrase.

He's lucky to be alive. The cop had every right to shoot him after the taser. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if he was both congratulated and scolded for it.

    Other than Dallas:

Raiders are going to be interesting.

Colts - went 10-2 (including playoffs) in their last 12 games.

Browns - played well 2nd half of season, added a slew of play-makers.

Arizona - if for no other reason than to see how Kyler Murray does.

Eagles - every article I see touts the Birds as being the most talent-laden team in the league.

Matthew Judon: We can be legendary on defense...

The Ravens have put strong defenses on the field for most of the last two decades, but the departure of players like C.J. Mosley, Za'Darius Smith and Terrell Suggs have raised some questions about whether this year’s edition will continue that tradition.

While there are areas of strength, linebacker Matthew Judon acknowledges that the pass rush is a spot where the team doesn’t know how things can play out. They are counting on young players like Tim Williams, Tyus Bowser and Jaylon Ferguson taking a step forward and Judon expressed confidence that they’ll do that by saying the group is “only young until we prove it.”

Judon said there is “definitely not a ceiling” to what this year’s team can do and said he believes they can be “a lot better” than the unit that finished second in points allowed and first in yards allowed last year.

“We can be legendary, one of the best,” Judon said during an appearance on 105.7 The Fan. “You’ve got to say those things, and you’ve got to believe those things to obtain those things. You can’t be shy or timid to say we can be the best defense out there. . . . Some people are going to call you crazy. They might have called us crazy last year, but we did it, and we obtained it, so that’s what we are going to do again.”

The Ravens have remade their offense this offseason and any growing pains on that side in the fall would be a lot easier to swallow if the defense is able to live up to Judon’s advance billing. (PFT)

Surprise Surprise...........none of you guys have mentioned the Kansas City Chiefs........pretty sure they will win the AFC West.

  16. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

They were one of the reasons I edited my post to include the entire AFC West.

Could be...although with the losses of Kareem Hunt and possibly Tyreek Hill, they look to be less of an offensive juggernaut.

Beyond that, I wasn't basing my view on who I thought would be good or who I thought would necessarily be a division winner - just who had an interesting off-season. Patriots are the favorites to win the Super Bowl (again), but they're not the first team I'm curious to see. Barring an injury to St. Tom, we KNOW they're going to win 11-12 games.

Combined with Oakland getting AB to give Carr a top tier weapon for the first time in his career and Denver getting healthy and we all know the Chargers will be tough. You could make a pretty strong case for any team to win that division. Only other division I really see as a legitimate 4 team race is the NFC North. Possibly the AFC South, but I personally think the Jags and Titans fall off leaving the Colts and Texans fighting it out for the top spot in the division.

Bucs corner Ryan Smith suspended four games...

The NFL announced that cornerback Ryan Smith has been suspended four games for violating the policy on performance-enhancing substances.

(Which is weird, because today is definitely not Friday.)

“We are disappointed that Ryan will be unavailable for the first four games of the season,” Bucs General Manager Jason Licht said in a statement. “We do extensive training and education for our players regarding the league’s polices, but ultimately each individual is responsible for what they put in their bodies.”

Smith can participate in training camp and the preseason, but won’t be eligible to return until the Monday after Week Four.

The 2016 fourth-round pick has started 16 games the last two seasons, but the Buccaneers drafted cornerbacks in the second and third rounds this year, so this doesn’t help his standing. (PFT)

Former Washington State safety Jalen Thompson is heading to Arizona.

Thompson was chosen by the Cardinals with a fifth-round pick in today’s supplemental draft, according to multiple reports.

A surprise entrant in the supplemental draft after the NCAA stripped him of his eligibility for testing positive for a banned substance, Thompson was viewed by many as a potential second-day pick next year, so getting him with a fifth-round pick seems like a good move. Although he is getting a late start, having missed all of the offseason, if he has a strong preseason he could contribute from Week One as a rookie.

Having used the pick today, the Cardinals now do not have that pick in the regular 2020 draft. (It isn’t currently known whether the Cardinals used their own fifth-round pick or the Dolphins’ fifth-round pick, which they acquired in the Josh Rosen trade.) But the team that had the first overall pick in the regular draft now thinks it has added another talented rookie to its 2019 roster.
