    Same here.

Ugh. Now I can't get it out of my mind ...

Searching For Bobby Fischer was great.

Took my son to see Dark Phoenix the other day. Solid popcorn superhero flick. The X-men movies are kind of a jumbled mess as a whole but as individual films I think they’re more entertaining than the Avengers ones.

Detective Pikachu was awesome. Great family movie, great nostalgia movie for older fans. You can tell everyone on the creative staff truly loved the source material.

Yeah, I'm a dork. I'm good with it.

A couple I recently watched and enjoyed for the first time:

10 Cloverfield Lane. Strangely enjoyable movie. Starts off as a psychological drama then veers unexpectedly into a sci-fi action movie. But I liked it quite a bit.

3:10 to Yuma (the Bale/Crowe remake). It’s not Unforgiven or anything, but a solid western with good performances. Never seen the original but I hope to catch it soon.

Heard good things about 10 Cloverfield Lane - haven't seen it yet, though.

Agree with you on 3:10 to Yuma. Strong movie.

I watched Into the Spiderverse on Netflix and spent the entire movie wondering if I was supposed to be watching it in 3d due to an abundance of ghost images around the characters. People told me after that it was simply all a part of the stylized art.

Overall though, it was a decent movie. For me, Peter Parker is the only real Spider-Man, but Miles Morales was likeable.

Seeing it in 3D was a religious experience. It was like being a kid again. One of the coolest things I've had the opportunity to watch. Haven't seen it in 2D yet for a comparison.

Watched "Bad Times at the El Royale" over the weekend. Quality movie. Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, and a few other good actor / actress performances. It's a mystery / thriller / action flick that gives plenty of "holy shit" moments, and keeps you eager for the next scene. The only time this isn't true is for about a 30 minute period in the back third of the movie. They really shoe-horned in that bit, and it made the movie unnecessarily long. If you can can sit through that, the rest is well worth the payoff. Chris Hemsworth is all kinds of bad, in this movie. It's a poorly written part, and he plays it pretty poorly as well. His American accent is... painful. At least, it's particularly noticeable across from great orators like Jeff Bridges. But there were some really poignant moments among the action, which added some real depth.

all solid movies Axe. Dazed and Confused is a gem of a movie.

    Blackkklansman is not very accurate.

Monster's Ball was solid but far fetched.

Old Man was good. I own the novella too.

Spiderman Far from Home - ugh. Another comic book movie where the villain is
totally fake and made up like Iron Man 3 and the Ben Kingsley Character.
The MJ girl is bad in the role. The role is bad. Just too many damn Spidey movies.

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was significantly different from the routine Spiderman movies we've been fed for the last two decades. Hell, I thought it was different from just about any other superhero movie we routinely get. Seeing it in 3D was a real treat that I can't imagine replicating with any other movie, any time soon.

dline-did you notice in the movie, the bald guy at the controls is Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) from A Christmas Story? He co-produced the first Iron Man and has ties to Jon Favreau.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD-Wow. This may go down as the worst Tarantino movie ever. Cost $92 mil to make and only grossed $52 mil so far. Plot was not even close to what the synopsis said it was and it was idiotic. Pitt is good in the role. DiCaprio is just way too over the top. it would help knowing what famous actors were portrayed in the movie as many scenes jump right into a scene with people in it and you have no idea who they are. he doesn't do a good job od leading into the scene. know i read a wiki plot review and knew the ending only to be wrong. the wiki ending wasn't accurate and just written by 2 assholes fans, so i was expecting a big thing to happen, but it didn't. when the movie was over, i expected so much more. a huge let down. and the ending was so dark, i could barely see what the hell was going on in the scene. overall a dumb movie. Inn of the Sixth Happiness. Based on a true story of a maid/would-be missionary (Ingrid Bergman) in pre-WW II China. Pretty solid movie, interesting story. Long (2 1/2+ hours), but never seemed to drag.

Apparently the woman (Gladys Aylward) upon whom the movie was based wasn't too happy with the movie itself: a (very chaste) love interest she decried as "total lies," and she was unhappy that such a "wicked" woman as Bergman (who had had an affair with Roberto Rossellini).
