Ottawa trying to become the Leafs. First DJ SMith as coach, then the trade for Zaitsev and now Ennis and Hainsey.
Hey Ottawa, youre poaching the wrong Leafs.

I hate the way they treated Ennis, now they're doing a glorified signing with a 36 year old Spezza that had 8 goals.

    Who will take horseface Fanoof?

  4. skinny123 Guest

Panarin reportedly offered $12M by CBJ.

Well, it's a good thing that Toronto gave you a pick to take the Zaitsev contract off their hands, Ottawa. Oh, wait - you gave them a pick? Well, that's okay, Ottawa. You're trying, I think...

I wouldn’t mind him as a 3rd pairing guy. Money and term also 3rd pairing of course.

After his buyout I'm hearing $750K, which is very fair.

Panthers to sign Anton Stralman for 3 years, $5.5 million AAV.

This is what happens when you don't pay any attention to your D or G pool for years, and then have to desperately fill the roster to take advantage of your forwards who are now in their prime. F*** you, Tallon. F*** you.

Overpaid for an aging D-man that has been injured and can't reliably be a top pair D-man. For a team that needs physicality, this isn't that. Between this and the Connolly signing, it sounds like the Panthers went all in on Panarin, and are panicking now that they're not going to get him. Considering that Panarin was ALWAYS a luxury, and this roster needed serious rounding with quality players, this feels like coming up short in all areas.

Panarin expected to sign with the Rangers, you add Kakko, Trouba and now Panarin?

  10. skinny123 Guest

Joe Pavelski to Dallas and Matt Duchene to Nashville.

Corey Perry to Dallas as well.

Panthers sign Noel Acciari for three years, $5 million total (about $1.67 aav).

Panarin's deal with NYR feels like a formality, at this point. Just waiting for the signature, and to see the numbers.

Acciari is a great signing. He’ll quickly become a fan favorite, he’s strong on the puck, hits everything in sight and refuses to be outworked. Wish the Bruins had resigned him to that deal.

  14. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

    In line with his production.
As long as he’s good in the room, which I think he is.

  15. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

Stralman was a great player a couple years ago, very underrated. Not sure if he still has the same skill set but if he does he’ll free up his D partner to be more offensive.

Pavelski to Dallas is interesting. They need secondary scoring badly. I’ve thought they’re on the doorstep for a couple years now. Maybe Pavelski puts them there?

  17. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Panarin to NYR at 7 years, $11.6 aav. I'm sure that he was offered comparable deals elsewhere. He wanted to play for the Rangers. Interesting. Time to make peace with the competition, Metro fans.

Rags on the rebound but still big holes everywhere on that roster.

Connor Clifton reups with the Bs for 3 more years (after next season). Not sure on aav but keeping this kid on the cheap for 4 more years sounds good to me. Krug looking over his shoulder.

  19. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Good to hear, and it matches what I've seen. Panthers desperately need that player on their roster.
I liked Stralman a lot a few years ago. But he's been injured and is slowing. I know that he's typically the defensive guy across from the offensive one, which is welcome, but I don't think he's the defensive guy that the team needed. Moreover, at that contract and age, I think Florida is going to regret the deal. It's not that it's too long, it's that the team has that three year window to really capitalize.

Agreed. But from a rebuild standpoint, Trouba and Panarin represent the elite talent you need, presuming your prospects grow into the roster. Of course, that requires the roster to fill out in the next few years, but adding Panarin, Trouba, Kakko, and Fox in one offseason sounds like a pretty strong set of acquisitions.
