Why does Ryan Hartman keep getting traded? Seems like a nice little bottom 6F on the cheap.

Hartmans been a 30 point player and now that he's become RFA, he could've been asking too much in fletchers eyes. He could see an improvement in the right situation, so teams would take a chance on him and he'd be easy to get in a trade request.
Also the first rounder label carries weight in negotiations and some gms won't pay him.

Something like Hartmans 4th team now. Could be a victim of circumstance, I suspect he is in this situation. Hextall was persecuted for not making enough trades (even though he inherited an awful situation) so Fletcher is going to make all the trades.

I wouldn't want any Fletcher running things, I still remember his dads famous Jeff Finger siginging, 4 yrs/$14M.

I thought that was JFJ, obviously I’m wrong.
That was a doozy of a signing. Can’t blame Jeff Finger for signing it but that was brutal.

It was that little phase between JFJ and Burke, 105 games played. Don't blame Finger on that one. Fletcher says now that he thought Finger was a different player than the one he wanted.

Clears $4.75 mil off the cap for Colorado, Arizona only eats the contract for one remaining year, before he's UFA.

Avalanche poised to pay some talented players some money.

VGK's trade Haula to the Canes for a nice prospect and a 5th. Canes seem serious about becoming good.

Sabres close to getting D, Colin Miller from the VGK. No word on what/who is going west. Given their cap situation it's unlikely that Risto will go to LV. But it smells like a setup trade and a precursor to one big Finn heading out of Buffalo.

Buffalo needs a 2C, but with Mittlestadt on the roster - and now Cozens in the pipeline - he does not need to be a long term answer. Buffalo can also absorb salary, and that always greases the trade rails. I could see Botts buying an aging C along with a nice middle-six RW prospect ready for prime time in return for Rasmus the Finn.

The ROR trade is now defined with the 2021 going to Vegas (the VGK also get a 2022 5th).

Buffalo gets Tage Thompson, Colin Milller, Ryan Johnson (#31) and some sob for ROR and a 5th.

Miller is cost-contained and shoots R. Risto looks certain to be moved now.

This is juicing the Sabres fan base more than I expected.

I'm going to take a deep look at the Jets roster. I think the rumors about WPG & BUF making a deal are real.

forget where I read it but recently read that Roslovic wants out of Winnipeg. would assume Scheifele, Laine, Connors and Ehlers would be off-limits.

Kessel traded to Coyotes by Penguins: report
Pittsburgh receives forward Galchenyuk, defenseman prospect

Phil Kessel was traded to the Arizona Coyotes by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, according to reports.

Pittsburgh receives forward Alex Galchenyuk and defenseman prospect Pierre-Olivier Joseph in the trade, TSN reported. Arizona also got a draft pick and minor league defenseman Dane Birks.

Kessel had 82 points (27 goals, 55 assists) in 82 games this season and two points (one goal, one assist) in four Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The 31-year-old forward was acquired by the Penguins in a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1, 2015. In four seasons with Pittsburgh, he had 303 points (110 goals, 193 assists) in 328 games, second on the team behind Sidney Crosby (363).

In 2015-16, his first season with the Penguins, Kessel led them in scoring with 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 24 playoff games to help them win the Stanley Cup. He had 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 25 playoff games the following season to help the Penguins repeat as Cup champion.

He's played 774 consecutive games, the third-longest active streak behind unrestricted free agent forward Patrick Marleau (788) and Florida Panthers defenseman Keith Yandle (797).

Selected by the Boston Bruins with the No. 5 pick of the 2006 NHL Draft, Kessel has 823 points (357 goals, 466 assists) in 996 games with the Bruins, Maple Leafs and Penguins.

Kessel has three seasons remaining on an eight-year contract ($8 million average annual value) he signed with the Maple Leafs on Oct. 1, 2013.

Galchenyuk had 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) in 72 games this season, his first with the Coyotes. The 25-year-old was acquired in a trade from the Montreal Canadiens on June 15, 2018, for forward Max Domi.

Galchenyuk, who was selected by Montreal with the No. 3 pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, has 296 points (127 goals, 169 assists) in 490 games with the Coyotes and Canadiens, and 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 28 NHL playoff games, all with Montreal.

Joseph was selected by the Coyotes in the first round (No. 23) of the 2017 NHL Draft.

    WOW!

Hot dogs running for cover in the desert already.
Galchenyuk a UFA at the end of next season, and Pierre-Oliver turning 20 while under control for the next three season at EL money.
Looks like they really wanted Kessel gone, he could make the Yotes a playoff team.
