In 9 seasons he's never had more than 63 points, case closed.

I wonder how many prospects make each team's "Do Not Draft List"?

Are you listening, Detroit Red Wings? Doubt it happens, but if he slides id like to see a good goalie prospect in red & white.

#6 seems early for Knight and 2nd round might be too late. I’d guess you could either trade down and hope to grab him in the teens or if you love him.....6?

Ya, #6 just wont work, in my opinion. That high of a pick has got to be one of the puck-handlers and there are some good ones available at 6.

Doubt he makes a slide to the second, but if a team traded some lower picks to get into the bottom of the 1st, they might snag him and a stud to boot only if they hadn't given up their early 1st... but im dreaming.

I think it's unlikely Knight makes it past #20.

If you're looking for a late-round G for organizational depth, I'd look at Dustin Wolf, Everett, WHL. He's a very good skater (important for a goalie) and a very intelligent kid. He is also very competitive. Everett produced Hart that is now Philly's future; they have a nice program. He's 5' 11", and if he grew an inch he'd be a 2nd or 3rd rounder but will probably last until the 5th or 6th.

Gimme a prospect with athleticism and smarts that has a solid background in the fundamentals. It's only in the past 5-10 years that teams started to obsess over height.

I agree Dan............I saw the Silvertips play the Giants and was impressed with Wolf.

BTW ............Jezz Sabres get 3 picks in RD # 1...........JEZZ...........lol

We used to have 3 firsts. ANA picks at #29 with the pick used for Montour. The #31 pick came from the Blues.
The only meaningful asset Buffalo sent to Carolina last August in the Skinner trade is the 2nd rounder. So, unless they trade down from 31 they're sitting it out until the third.

Wolf does not impress you in warm ups, but can sure do that during the game. Sneaky good pick for whoever takes him. He reminds me of Jhonas Enroth (the Sabres once drafted him 31st overall) who went on to be a great backup and a sometimes starter.

What's your assessment of the Giants big d'man?
(I'll give myself away. I think he's the third best prospect in the draft, and belongs in Tier 2 with Turcotte for 3 & 4.)

  12. Bowen Byram...........he will go in the Top 10 for sure........good stay at home D Man and great skater.

Ready to start the long trek to Vancouver for this years draft, let's hope it's finally my year. I bringing that tape of my famous 1986 breakaway goal.

Today is the big day, $8 to $10M in tourist money pouring into Vancouver.

    Hughes or Kakko?

    I'd say 70/30 for Jack.

Blackhawks either need to Byram or trade down.

    Anything else is probably dumb.

If I was a Hawks fan id be in complete agreement BWW, take the best Dman and dont think twice about it. Seems like a lot of mocks like Turcotte for the Hawks though. Just dudes like you and me speculating though.

Depending on who is available Id take the chance on Podkolzin if I was picking after #5. I dont know much about the kid other than what I read but a scout I know tells me that this kid could be something special and will probably get overlooked because of the Ruuskieness.
    I love Cole Caufield.
the German D Seider is intriguing. Seems like he has bust written all over him but he may be worth the swing for the fences.
also intrigued where Spencer Knight goes, will he be the first G 1st rnder in a long time and even at that, will he be picked in the top half of the 1st round?
    and fuck Cam York.

I'm seeing Turcotte a lot and he's a local kid so there is that hype. But he won't be on the roster in September and therefore doesn't make much sense to me. Take the guy that can play now and plays at a position of need.

assuming you want a player ready now because of the window with Toews, Kane CC, etc.......
tough to ask a kid to jump in on D after his draft year, has to be a real special player for that. not saying Bowen isnt, just that its probably more unlikely than likely for any of these D to play in the league next year. Dahlin did last year but he is special. other than that I cant think of one since Ekblad. Even Heiskanen, McAvoy, and Makar took a year before jumping.

*Chychrun went right to the league I think too.

He doesn't have to be a stud right away....but most scouts expect him to be a day 1 player.
