It was always and will always be my least favourite jersey of all time. I'd still wear one if I found one for dirt cheap but nooooo. Give me stick in the rink, the corporate sponsorship orca or even Johnny the damn Vachon man logo before that.

 

There was a guy in the crowd here walking his dog, looked exactly like barclay the stanley pup. I said, "hey your dog looks just like barclay the blues mascot".

i just dont remember Bure using a Cooper. Pretty sure Bauer bought cooper so he switched to a Bauer stick his rookie year. I think anyway.
Eddie the Eagle, remember how hetook the league by storm? that was a great period for young players in the league. And Selanne's rookie year 76?

 

That was a cool era of NHL hockey. Fond memories.

It was 95 but ya. The US U16 team is gonna throttle everybody with maybe the exception of Canada (who is throttling at everyone at a lower gear). In the history of this competition they've only ever lost once and that was in the semis to Brazil 4 years ago and Brazil ended up losing to Canada in the final by 1 in OT. The US will play Brazil in the quarterfinals with the loser eliminated from the U17 World Cup. I don't think the US needs to worry though. That was a "golden age" team 4 years ago and they all are well past eligibility.

Probably lose by a ton to be honest. Maybe not by as much just from outside shooting alone.

 

These are competing teams? I thought these were the kids who join the teams onto the field / ice / court as a good gesture token before the game, standing next to the team they were following out. Ouch.

 

i wonder, some of those girls are huge. a bunch of 6-3s, 6-5, 6-7. i dont think they lose by a ton to most.
