He forgot to change the dates from 2017.

  2. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Monday's date is correct, it's just Wednesday that is incorrect.

    At least one a year.

I'm nothing if not consistently inconsistent with dates.

And I am going to take a look at the I.R. date and possibly eliminate it altogether.

Being that we are now working with TAXI spots for the practice squad and I.R. spots being designated at one a piece for offense/defense, there appears to be no necessity for having an open date (rosters have to be trimmed regardless of health at season's end).

Agree on that. But your wording forces me to clarify overall roster size come week 1 of reg season:
    30 players
    2 taxi
    1 IR (Right?)

Your wording sounds like maybe 2 IR spots, which is not my current understanding

Yes, there will be two IR spots this season. One for offense and one for defense.

And I will update the rules now to reflect both points.

  9. SPress Franchise Player Manager

1 IR I thought. However I don't read the rules. Just ask. Anyone want a WR for a RB?

It's something that had been discussed and decided upon this off-season immediately after FleaFlicker created their TAXI spots for our practice squad players.

I'm kinda impressed with what FleaFlicker has done this off-season.

They have made several changes that are very positive... I really think they are the best out there.

I didn't think I would. However, I really like FleaFlicker and their layout now

Only bad change is the draft board suddenly changed to be more friendly for redraft leagues. I don't care for position colour coding. I want to see all picks a team owns when I highlight a pick.

Also they said they are looking into adding multiple IR types on a roster for next season. Currently you can't have different types of IR designations. Whatever it's set at is it for each IR slot.

I think they corrected the highlighting issue so that you can highlight an entire teams picks at once.
Yeah, this is something that they definitely need to correct.

Send in the same concern and it's more likely to happen.

Talking about suggestions, I get annoyed that these requotes can be confusing and misleading.

They do listen at FF... I sent an email 2 days ago addressing an issue on a baseball team I have. It was taken care of sometime last night. I was impressed.

    1-year Review:

    1(9) Trey Burton, TE, CHI
    2(4) Mason Rudolph, QB, PIT
    3(8) Kevin Byard, DB, TEN
4(4) Leighton Vander Esch, LB, DAL
    4(5) Bradley Chubb, DL, DEN
    4(6) Micah Hyde, DB, BUF
    6(1) Vance McDonald, TE, PIT
    6(4) Cole Beasley, WR, DAL
    6(5) Terrell Edmunds, DB, PIT
    6(6) Justin Jackson, RB, LAC
    6(9) Robbie Gould, K, SF
    9(6) Ravens DST

Looking back, I felt like I could have done more/better. My first 5 picks are still on the roster, but Chubb’s move to LB shortly after the draft didn’t help my eventual weakness at DL.

Burton was a pick I was handcuffed into. My only TE on the roster before the draft was Adam Shaheen, which Burton would be staring over. Kind of wished I had kept McDonald, simply because he showed chemistry with Ben in the 2nd half of the season last year.

I definitely reached for Rudolph, as he was the 2nd QB off the board. I easily could of gone with a better option and gotten a player ready to make an impact this year.

Byard and Vander Esch were arguably the best value picks I had. Both will be starters for me for the foreseeable future; and both were, at the time, needs for my roster.

The rest of the draft was just trying to add depth and as I mentioned earlier, none of them stuck. All-in-all, my draft was one of the 2-3 worse in the league. It’s not what you want for a team that just missed the playoffs the year before due to tiebreakers. This draft really made me re-evaluate the way I needed to build my team, which I hope shows after this years draft.

    1(4) Rashaad Penny, RB, SEA
    1(11) D.J. Moore, WR, CAR
    2(1) Mike Gesicki, TE, MIA
    3(7) Jordan Poyer, S, BUF
    4(7) Dante Pettis, WR, SF
    7(4) Darius Leonard, LB, IND
    8(1) Antonio Gates, TE, LAC
    8(6) Darron Lee, LB, NYJ
    9(9) Darren Sproles, RB, PHI
    10(9) Luke Willson, TE, DET

This was a weird draft. Penny was a non-factor year 1 but he may get his shot this year. Moore looks like the WR1 in Carolina this year. Gesicki did nothing. I don't know if it's him or the offense. He'll probably kill it the moment I cut him. Kinda like Pettis and Poyer. I cut them and they were picked up late in the season to possibly be solid guys going forward. Leonard is a beast. I'm so glad I made the move to grab him. The rest were off my roster by the start of the season by either being cut or traded.

    2.7 RB: Kalen Ballage
    3.6 RB: Ito Smith
    3.10 RB: Chase Edmonds
    5.2 WR: J'Mon Moore
    5.8 TE: Ian Thomas
    8.2 LB: Anthony Hitchens
    9.2 RB: Josh Adams
    10.2 TE: Charles Clay

Ballage will likely begin to show his value now. He was a player that Grier coveted and Flores is already leaning towards Kalen potentially being the lead back and Drake being the counter. Ito was the necessary cuff for Freeman because of the exact scenario that played out (Tevin Coleman no longer a Falcon). Chase Edmonds was a value pick that I moved up for and I'm really interested to see what his role will be in Kingsbury's offense. J'Mon was BPA on my board but Rodgers has made it pretty clear that he won't be given a shot. Ian Thomas will be the starter when Olsen retires and he looked sharp in spot duty last season. Hitchens started a few games for me but injuries forced me to make unfortunate cuts, and he was one of them. Josh Adams got a spot start due to injuries but he became expendable rather quickly (although he did make it until cuts this off-season). Clay was more of a luxury depth piece and was only picked up in case he formed a quick repertoire with his QB.

I didn't have a first round pick because I traded it out in a move to save my season after injuries forced my hand. I made a small trade by swapping picks in the second to make sure I got Kalen and I made a move up to go after Chase. All in all, it was a draft that I believed was almost exclusively geared towards the future and so far it looks like at least 3, probably 4, of the 8 I drafted will be on my roster for a long time.
