Probably drank himself to death after that botched play. Cost your team the championship.

not true -- Had Buckner made the play with Wilson safe at first, the score would have remained tied for the next Mets batter. Had Buckner put out Wilson at first base, Game 6 would have gone to an 11th inning.

the manager didn't put in a defensive first basemen for buckner like he was supposed too and calvin schraldi gave up huge runs in game 6 and up 3-0 in game 7. schraldi is the real goat of that series, not buckner.

Buckner hit .340 with 8 hrs and 22 rbis rbis in September leading up to the WS.

Death threats over an error? A moment captured in time in a crazy stupid sports culture that wants to eat its own.

much like the Steve Barman incident. The guy changed his name and moved.

He never actually changed his name or moved away, they were both rumors that were proven untrue.

He has tried really hard to maintain privacy for him and his family though.

I have a lot of respect for Bartman. The way he handled everything and continues to handle it is impressive and speaks volumes about the person he must be.

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen dies at age 75.

During his 35-year stint as the Broncos majority owner, Bowlen had as many Super Bowl appearances (7) as losing seasons. But Bowlen also established himself as a fine leader in the community and among other NFL owners. Bowlen helped the NFL expand its international and television presence as the "single major force in the creation of Sunday Night Football" and sat on numerous committees. Five years ago, Bowlen gave up control of the team as he battled Alzheimer's disease, but he'll be remembered for establishing a fan-first and winning culture in Denver.
