That’s what it means. Great links to other actors. Perfect 3 choices for Pitt too. I’ve watched Spy Game many times. And his role in 12 Monkeys is probably my favorite character he’s ever done
So he's kind'a like the character actor's version of Six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Agreed - I thought Pitt was fantastic in 12 Monkeys.
spy game is very underrated. i watch it alot. he was oscar nominated for 12 monkeys and people still don't agree on the ending. i didn't get it at first, but i saw it again and get it and i think the lady from the future who sits next to the guy on the plane stops him as the people watching willis finally see how the plague started, so they sent back the little weird lady to stop him. many people think oh it's coincidence she is sitting next to david morse on the plane. no it's not. it's planned and why they sent willis back to begin with.
it's a little confusing at first or second viewing. i watch it now on cable and pick up things that are being said, key things, i didn't catch before. like why did Redford have Hadley kidnapped. he said to trade her for an American who was convicted of espionage. However Pitt wasn't arrested yet of anything, so why kidnap her ? that always bothered me and then i read a Spy Game wiki page and it all came to me. bc she killed a Chinese leaders son in a London bombing, she was deemed a risk and danger to Pitt's life. Redford was afraid she would rat him out as a real American spy to his enemies. to prevent that Redford had her kidnapped. If she talked and Pitt was arrested for being a spy, he would then trade Hadley for Pitt. Pitt found out about it and rescued her first. redford's admin, glady's packs up his entire office, and within 2 hrs of being in the room with troy and harker, the fbi is rummaging through it?? does that happen? just ask him "where are the bishop files?" was that necessary to do ? seems like a dick move and they didn't trust one of their own ? and how did they know the combination to his safe ?? and redford leaves his office and waves goodbye to his admin. he's leaving forever as it's his last day. he's getting ready to leave the building and see on tv the new report he had digby gibson leak was retracted and Pitt will die tomorrow. he comes back to his office and Harker sees him and says "we need you a little longer." ?? Redford was 10 seconds from leaving the FBI forever. and now you need him ? Odd. and later that day when he was supposed to be gone forever, his admin puts a bottle of Scotch on his desk? WHy? he was 10 seconds from being out the door ?? she should've gave it to him sooner ? So the next morning when he signs his non-disclosure that was never mentioned the day before when he was going to leave. no one says goodbye to him. No one says anything to him about thank you for your service etc. Not Wilson, not Troy, etc. Only the guy who walks him out shakes his hand. That to me is very odd all these FBI guys don't wish well on one of their own ? And bc Redford drives away, im sure the FBI would have 2 goons at his house once they realized Pitt was rescued. No one walks away that cleanly from the FBI and unless Redford was on a plane, he had tickets, the FBI wasn't through with him !!
I want to go back and watch BOTH. Been awhile since I've seen 12 Monkeys, but from what I recall I agree with Cat's assessment of the ending.
which one axe -- spy game or 12 monkeys or both ? haha. to me 12 monkeys is clear - the future sent that lady back on purpose once they realize who has the tubes filled with the virus. and she says she's in "insurance." yeah insurance her world and future survive !!!!! there was a tv show called 12 monkeys that ended last year. the first season was fantastic. they it jumped too much, pun intended, and it never resolved the plague that killed everyone. they brought in all this extra nonsense and it ruined the show. 3 seasons later and it got to be ridiculous. they had a great idea on their hands and ruined it fast.
Michael Parks Ties to Brad Pitt in 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' Most people, that are old enough, would remember Parks from 'Then Came Bronson', but he was appallingly charismatic in 'Kill Bill: Vol. 2' as Esteban Vihaio. Most people wouldn't even notice that he was also in 'Kill Bill: Vol. 1' as a completely different character; Earl McGraw. His filmography is filled with roles that draw stark contrast to one another so it's no surprise that he could play multiple characters in the same film series.
John Goodman Ties to Michael Parks in Argo. Long been on my list of the most under appreciated actors. Three other than Argo where I simply enjoyed his role: The Big Lebowski 10 Cloverfield Lane Flight
