We will simply have to agree to disagree. You want to run the wheels off of Chubb? By all means go for it. I simply don't think it's in the Browns' best interest to trade a 24 year old running who is in his prime for a backup DT who's AARP membership number is in the same altitude as mine.

Great episode. I'm really lovin' this. I like how they showed Freddie complimenting that DB from the U and then he ended up making it.

So Kitchens' splits on a 16-game basis based on his eight game sample last year would lead to: 534 passes and 378 rushes on the season. Drop the QB/WR rushes out of that number and you're left with 340 for the running backs. I won't add it in, but we have Odell Beckham Jr. in the receiving corp and an elite QB, which should shift those percentages even further. That's an average of 21 carries per game. Even if Chubb got 100% of those carries, he'd average 1 attempt per game more than Ezekiel Elliott did last season.

At 90% of the 340 (let's be real... once Hunt is eligible and game-ready, it'll be 50/50), that's an average of 19 attempts per game. Once he was made the primary back last season, Chubb averaged 17.6 attempts, hit 19+ five (out of 10 games) and hit 18 (one shy) in another two.

You're talking like I want to run him 35+ times a game or something... I want Mayfield throwing it 60 times a game and breaking every passing record in 2019. Chubb and the running game should be a compliment... not the focus.

Honestly, more than any concern about sharing carries is the price tag for what would be our third-best defensive tackle. If McCoy is going to keep his $13 million a season, that's probably not worth it for the team. I'm thinking Tampa is going to have to release him (if they don't find a way to work out a re-structure) in which case, the debate over McCoy for Johnson is a moot point as well.

. . . And waived RB Devonte Mays to make room on the roster.

not following that (rhetorical?) question. I'm probably going to feel dumb...

I wouldn't feel dumb, but I would think he is saying the type of player that can handle 10% of the carries as well as contribute heavily on special teams.

Well . . . McCoy's visit with the Browns has come and gone and now he's off to visit the Ravens (and, potentially, others). Recent related news has me wondering.

It was initially reported that he was released by the Bucs as a salary cap move to open up $13M in cap space for the Bucs. Then, within 24 hours the Bucs sign Ndamukong Suh for around $11M. Both McCoy and Suh are relative geezers in the NFL. Both allegedly have their best playing days behind them and both are considered rotational players today. I get that there's a new coaching staff in Tampa Bay but, why would a coaching staff sign off on releasing McCoy only to turn around and sign a clone to save $2M in cap space?

I can't help but wonder if there's more going on here concerning his physical or mental state that we don't know.

It appears as if Gerald McCoy wasn't enamored with the offers from either the Browns or the Ravens as he is now off to visit with the Carolina Panthers.

Can we take a moment to recognize how the Browns have *for sure* the worst media representatives in the entire league in Tony Grossi and Mary Kay Click-Bait? They are just awful.

Free agent DT Gerald McCoy will take the weekend to mull his options before deciding where to sign.
McCoy just concluded his meeting with the Panthers, his third free-agent visit following previous sit-downs with Baltimore and Cleveland. It's hard to guess where McCoy is leaning, though the veteran has made it clear that playing for a contender takes precedence over money. Look for the six-time Pro Bowler to make his decision early next week.

I saw a Ravens report that they understood why McCoy would sign with Cleveland and it was time for BAL to move on. As if it were a done deal.

Ive been checking the news all day hoping to be able to break this, yet, nothing.

McCoy said he wants to be in OTAs with whomever he signs with and we begin tomorrow. For now, we wait.

Reports now is, it is the revenge factor that he gets to play the Buccs twice this year...and he wanted to stay in the south.

I'm okay with the decision - he gets his revenge and we don't have to pay $10 million a year to Larry Ogunjobi's back-up.
