https://www.cbssports.com/general/n...objection-maximum-securitys-disqualification/ wtf was that ? i've seen horses blocked all the time. clipped? it didn't affect the race results. the real winner was winning that race no matter what. i think 10 yrs ago a heavy favorite was at post 1 or 2 and got pinned in from the start by horses 3 and 4 and could not break free of them. they basically boxed him in. no one called for a "impeding" call there. outrageous a 65-1 shot won bc the real winner was DQ'd !
There'a a lawsuit pending, he lost $1.8M on the purse alone, plus the drop in the horses value. War of Will was looking good for a while there.
i would sue their asses off and then not run in the other 2 races as a sign of KISS MY ASS. Terrible ruling and i didn't even bet !
i know all about it. but that horse was a 65-1 shot so who is he breeding with to make his foals better than he was bc he wasn't good ? one of the biggest bust for breeding was the $60 million paid to Fusaichi Pegasus.
in the 1950's, a couple named Dan and Ada Rice owned a Kentucky Derby winning horse. They owned a ton of property in what's now called Wheaton, Illinois. Strip malls, highways, water reservoirs, horse ranches and stables, etc, have their name on it "DANADA." My sister's wedding reception was at one of their former ranch houses that was converted to a small reception space for small weddings, like my sisters. The rest of the property was still one of their horse stables and ranches. Tons of acres. They came to my college in the late 1970's and said "if you house our horse trophies, we will build you a gymnasium." The college agreed, so the Dan and Ada Rice Center is still on campus today and their is an upstairs room filled with their horse racing trophies. Due to the weather, my college graduation was in that gym as well. Very generous people, so yes skinny, i know how profitable a Kentucky Derby winning horse can be. I think the ruling was bullshit as i've seen horses get impeded before. it didn't affect the race outcome. These people were millionaires from the 60's and 70's ! My first day on campus, i went to see the trophies and saw the Derby trophy. Amazing story.
Northern Dancer was offered $40M in 1981. I knew this one guy whose dad was a horse trainer, made millions. His name was Frank Passero jr, a legend in Canada.
that's cool. Bob Baffert, D. Wayne Lucas and the other horse trainer are pretty famous for their triple crown winning horses the last 25 years.
https://www.cbssports.com/general/n...l-decision-pulls-horse-from-preakness-stakes/ boom! maximum security out of the preakness over derby results. exactly as i stated. kiss my ass and we're out. now im surprised he pulled out since he can't win the TC, but he got robbed, so he's taking his horse and going home.
https://www.cbssports.com/general/n...l-not-run-at-preakness-stakes-due-to-illness/ so now the Derby has a cough and won't run the next race. this sounds like a cough, cough fix !
Racing a horse on two weeks rest is a bad idea. Unless you have something to race for. Like a T/C. I hate to see it happen, but it's the right call.
but it's more of a FU to the racing world for disqualifying his winning horse. and they're all on 2 weeks rest, aren't they ?
FU to the racing world ?? Unfoutunatly I think your right. This whole thing is a mess from top to bottom. Kinda like the Saints/Rams playoff game. What can you do after it happens ?? Not much.
SoCal the owner said "since we can't win the Triple Crown, there's no need to race." He's basically taking his ball (horse) and going home bc he's pissed he was robbed of the chance to win the TC! Racing fans im sure wanted to see his horse and if he could win again without a DQ. The owner is all pissy and went home. To me that's a FU to racing fans. btw-SoCal - nice to see and chat with you again on here !
