yeah that's when bobby clarke was gm and thought of the great idea to acquire all the old timers to play in the current NHL. They played when Lindros was young. Lindros accidentially ran over Coffey on New Years Eve, because Coffey wasn't paying attention and Lindros just knocked him over. Coffey was on the ice for several minutes. i thought he was dead. the Flyers had: Coffey, Dale Hawerchuk, Joel Otto, Tony Amonte and Adam Oates. They acquired Jeremy Roenick later on. ugh.

He played with 8 diferent teams, I only remember the oilers, pens, wings and Canes.
I just read that he made it to game 7 with the flyers vs the Wings SC final, plus two part seasons.

wait, that's not true. there was no game 7! those bums got swept bc hextall was letting in 30 foot goals and allowing Darren McCarty to suddenly become Mario Lemieux and score a highlight goal as he skated around 5 Flyers and finally a flailing Hextall to score a huge series goal.

I misread it, it was his 7th SC final appearance.

I didn't see Amonte and Oates on that roster, maybe different year.

The Amonte, Oates and Roenick era was 2001-2002.

ok. they were the Senior Citizen Flyers then. Lindros played with Coffey in the mid-90's.

They made it to the finals, the leafs were seniors in '67.

The Soviets were banned from maple leaf gardens by leafs owner Harold Ballard, even the Moscow circus. It wasn't until the year of his death in 1990 that the leafs finally hosted Dynamo and lost 7-4.

all i know is due to rough play the soviets left the ice midway through the game vs the flyers. ed snider said he wouldn't pay them, so they went back out. everyone cheered for the flyers vs the russians - even matty and dan. haha.

All innocent kids that grew up in small towns for the most part and not much was known about the world like it is today, they were really special times.

That's pretty creepy, "hey we've noticed you've taken interest in russian hockey lately", how about a KHL score?
