so this is NOT an isolated incident ! it has happened before. the trees were part of the problem. no idea why he didn't see the sign.

actually the trees covered both drivers vision of each other in the other lanes, NOT the stop sign as i posted earlier. the article made it seem like the sign was blocked. it wasn't. however they are putting up larger signs now for all to see at that intersection.

I'm not sure if it's the same in BC as it is in Ontario but the tractors here are governed at 105 km/hr. They cannot go any faster than that.

And unfortunately my husband is not the spokesperson kind. He's very quiet and shy. We'll have to find someone else to do it!

well for this intersection where accidents happened before, they cut down the trees and put up multiple stop signs in all directions. however for the many other intersections in Canada, the US, and the World, accidents still happen sadly and in many cases unnecessarily.

ESPN/E60 is airing right now a hour special on the Broncos called "Forever Broncos." It first aired 3 weeks ago. 15 min left and I'm a ball of fucking tears. So sad to see the films of the funerals and hearing the survivors. So tragic of an event. ;(

Great film making by ESPN and narration by Wayne Gretzky.

They played this year and retired all of the jersey #'s of all the players involved. One of the Fathers, who lost his son, came out and read a statement to the crowd after their 2018 fall opener. The surviving players came in the ice to hear the Father speak. Most were in tears and some hid their faces as they were crying too much. Very powerful stuff.

  9. Cat............very sad day in Canada and the World for Hockey........I still get chills thinking about the accident.....
....... when I played in JR's we traveled on the Bus.

this 60 min special was tough to watch. to see the funerals and the one Dad speak of his son was heart breaking. the same Dad is the one i mentioned after their first home game speaking to the crowd. seeing those kids being brought onto the ice and seeing them crying as the jersey #'s were retired and hearing that parent speak again was just so sad. i was shocked to hear the GOFUNDME and other charities worldwide raised $11 million dollars for the families of the deceased and the survivors who had major injuries. no money is worth what all these kids, coaches, trainers, assistants and families went through.

many sports travel by bus. all minor league baseball players do it too.

there was a bus crash 35 yrs ago that took the life of Lindy Ruff's brother and 3 kids on a team. It was the Swift Broncos. Bus hit a patch of black ice and went off the road, hit an embankment and launched in the air. Joe Sakic was on that bus and had 60 goals that year. the coach was heavily scrutinized to not allow any professional medical counselors to the team to cope with what happened. the team banded together to get through it. I remember when I was 5 our school bus driver made a left turn and was hit by the oncoming car. I still remember it clear to this day.

was anyone injured? jeez that's awful skinny.

Nobody was hurt, it was a minor road with a 30 mph speed limit. We were high up, the car collided with the bottom portion of the bus, so nobody was hurt.

hell yeah! someone could've been hurt though and 30 mph can still do damage in and out of the car.

I still remember our driver being a lady with brown curly hair and a blue jacket. She got up and looked startled, she then went outside to talk to the driver of the car.

I don't remember anything else after that.

you probably blocked it out of your memory !

I agree Skinny.........just glad you were safe and sound .....albeit you were only 5 I bet you still remember it like it was yesterday.

The sound of the crash is what would bother me.......it's F-ing LOUD.
