Vikings Trade Up, Pick Oklahoma G Dru Samia in 4th Round of 2019 NFL Draft ... EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Saturday began the final day of the 2019 NFL Draft by trading up to select Dru Samia with the 114th overall pick. Samia (6-foot-5, 305 pounds) is from Sacramento, California. He began his Sooners career at right tackle, where he started nine of 12 games as a freshman. Samia shifted to right guard after the first game of his sophomore season and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors. The Oklahoma offensive line was presented the Joe Moore Award in 2018 when Samia also earned Second-Team All-America honors from the Associated Press and a First-Team All-Big 12 from the leagues coaches. Minnesota sent the 120th and 209th overall picks to Seattle to move up six spots. Player Bio Oklahoma signed Samia (pronounced suh-MEE-uh) as a top 15 offensive tackle recruit nationally out of Sacramento. He started 9 of 12 games at right tackle his true freshman year. In 2016, however, after a start at right tackle in the opener, he was moved to right guard for the final 12 games to earn honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades. Samia stayed at right guard as a junior, starting 12 of 13 games played to land second-team all-conference honors. He was ejected in the Sooners' hotly-contested game against West Virginia for throwing a punch. Samia started all 14 games on the Joe Moore Award-winning Oklahoma offensive line in 2018, garnering second-team All-American notice from the Associated Press and a first-team All-Big 12 nod from league coaches. Overview Vocal leader who has cut his teeth with an Oklahoma offensive line that has dripped with aggression and attitude during his four years as a starter. Samia is a loose-limbed, athletic guard whose foot quickness and second-level agility make him much more attractive as a move guard rather than a base-blocking option. His length and movement skills are a big plus, but issues with core strength and body control at the point of attack must be improved in order to survive against NFL power. (Vikings.com)
Looks like the O-line is gonna be all about zone blocking Dru Samia looks like he might be ok,now get a wr or a Defensive End cause it has to be address ( Everson Griffen )
Smith was expected to be a star for the Trojans after earning High School All-American honors. He actually started building his reputation as a fourth-grader, as he suited up against eighth-graders due to his instincts and toughness. The honors started early in his collegiate career, garnering Freshman All-American and honorable mention All-Pac-12 notice in 2015 (78 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, three pass breakups). The Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year only played in 10 games (nine starts) because he had season-ending surgery on torn knee ligaments. Smith somehow returned for the 2016 season opener, receiving second-team all-conference accolades with 83 tackles, seven for loss, and four pass breakups in 13 starts. He was a first-team All-Pac-12 player in 2017, starting 13 of 14 games played (sat out first half of opener due to targeting call in previous year's bowl game). He led USC with 112 stops, 11 of which went for losses, intercepting one pass, and breaking up three passes. He played in only 10 games in 2018, but still landed second-team all-conference notice by leading the Trojans with 81 tackles, 7.5 for loss, and four pass breakups.

Jayron Kearse Kearse may move from safety to weakside linebacker, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. The Vikings will try to make the transition this spring. Analysis; Kearse was mostly used on special teams last season but showed promise at times at safety. He also got time at nickelback last season, so the Vikings may utilize him in a versatile role.
Laquon Treadwell WR, MIN The Vikings are not expected to pick up the fifth-year option on Treadwell's contract, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. He has a $10.162 million option in his contract for 2020. Analysis; He'll be a free agent after this season as a result. The 2016 first-round pick has been a disappointment with just 56 receptions for 517 yards and one touchdown in three seasons. He could see a reduced role this season if the Vikings utilize more two-tight end sets with the acquisition of tight end Irv Smith Jr. in the second round of the 2019 draft.
That's interesting Jayron Kearse to weakside linebacker,Laquon Treadwell i thought he would be gone at the draft i i'am still amazed that Tricky Ricky didn't pick Parris Campell
