Nevermind. We gave up 5-144. So we have 5 picks left.
    • 1 4th (119)
    • 2 5th (155) & (170)
    • 1 6th (189)
    • 1 7th (221)

So what do we get today? Oline and LB depth? A Safety?

  3. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

IMHO, we need all of those.

  4. TopDawg Legend

    Long snapper?

  5. TopDawg Legend

I gotta think Safety...There's still some talent to be had.

  6. brett11253 Brett Blue Jackets Browns Indians

We got our safety. I think he's a good fit but wonder what's wrong with Deionte Thompson?

  7. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Correction: we got A safety. IMHO, he's a little undersized for a Strong Safety at 190 pounds (23 pounds lighter than Peppers). He may be able to add weight, but at what cost?

Maybe I should learn from last year and just sit back and go all in on Dorsey's decisions.

He's a better all around player than peppers in my opinion. He's better in coverage. And at 6 foot he can add weight. Obviously he's a much later pick but I don't see why we can't get similar production and when comparing the two I'm confident we got relative "value" with this pick to replace production we lost

Just been looking at all the "grade the draft" columns everywhere (I know they don't mean squat) but the talking heads aren't giving such high marks on the Browns draft outside of Greedy and Mack Wilson. Most have the Browns draft "rated" down in the 20's (out of 32). As I said, I know they don't mean squat, but I think they're all forgetting that with the 17th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft the Browns selected Odell Beckham. Just struck a nerve with me, especially since I saw a few praising the Pats' draft while taking into account "they did start at #32." Tired of all the knob-polishing NE gets.

Well, here's what you all have been waiting for . . .

Head count is currently at 92, and we have approximately $33M in Cap Space left.

Nice, @Lyman. You put this together yourself? If so......

Thanks for that Doug. Great work...Hope you don't mind if I repost on the main draft thread.

Wish these dudes all the best, but with the roster we have this isn't going to be like years past where two or three guys are on the opening day roster and we're rooting for one of the "long shots" to be our next Pro Bowler.

My guess is one, maybe two, make the practice squad and the rest are on to another squad. New York, maybe...

Couple of early takeaways from the Browns' 2019 Draft:
    • Draft grades are dumb. That being said, this was obviously an A++ draft

    • (If you don't see the humor/sarcasm in the first bullet point, I can't help you and we can't be friends - and yes, this is sub-LS4N'ing all Bears posters)

    • Wow was I way too high on Mack Wilson...

    • That being said, I'm going out and buying my Mack Wilson jersey immediately

    • If you told me in April we could have traded for Odell (giving up the #17 pick) and still got Greedy Williams, I would have laughed at you. Browns got the best pure cover cornerback in the class and had to move up three spots in the second round. HUGE value.

    • Greedy Williams' attitude is already endearing me to him. He's going to be a big target, but if he backs it up with solid play, it shouldn't be a problem. Guy's already earned his #dawgcheck

    • Dorsey clearly betting on all athleticism in Day 3

    • Sione Takitaki has: (1) a great name, (2) great athleticism, (3) a tremulously productive NCAA career, and (4) four(!) suspensions from a Division I football program. From what I've seen, it all has to do with fighting (not against women, either), so I'm on board for that. Hopefully he takes it to the division rivals early and often. After watching James Harrison mercilessly (and illegally) head-hunt for nearly a decade (while the league did nary a thing) and Vontaze Burfict do his thing, it'll be nice to be on the dealing end of the punishment for once.

    • Not Browns, but... tough to know who had the worst draft between Arizona, New York (Giants), and Cincinnati. Just kidding Bengals readers, it was you. Arizona shot themselves in the QB foot - and not that Kyler can't be a good QB, I think he can, but Rosen was not bad and Klingsbury is not the guy to get Kyler there. Kudos to the Dolphins on a huge QB win. New York Giants might be the worst-run F/O in sports. Gettleman is a complete tool. Cincinnati took a bunch of JAGs, passed on a franchsie QB (Haskins), and took a tackle who may work out but who most experts suggested should move to guard and they're going to task him with blocking Myles Garrett twice a season?

    Cleveland Browns
    • David Blough, QB, Purdue ---------------- Someone has to stock the fridge in the RV.
    • Dorian Baker, WR, Kentucky -------------Punt shagger
    • Stephen Carlson, TE, Princeton ----------Duff's cousin?
    • Brian Fineanganofo, G, Idaho State --- Jim Donovan's worst nightmare
    • Jamie Gillan, P, Arkansas Pine-Bluff -- No chance
    • Darrin Hall, RB, Pitt -------------------------- Ditto
    • Jarrell Owens, DE, Oklahoma State ---- Dorsey thought his scout said, "Terrell"
    • Jermaine Ponder, DB, St. Francis (PA) - This one makes me think.
    • Wyatt Ray, DE, Boston College ------------- Helmet mule
    • Dougladson Subtyl, DE, Arizona State -- Another tongue twister for Donovan
    • Aaron Wade, S, Utah State ------------------- We got us an A A Ron!
    • Dedrick Young, LB, Nebraska --------------- Actually, this one has hope.
    • Trayone Gray, RB, Miami ---------------------- Older brother of Traytwo.
    :p

This is spot on. My sentiments exactly...They are raving about the Bengals draft on Golic and Wingo. Crazy....Also Drew Sample? That one was out of left field.

As far as the Browns draft, I love where they got Greedy and Mack. If you would have told me before the draft that we would take Takitaki in the 3rd round, but still wing up getting Mack a round or two later, I wouldn't have believed it...

I think both Takitaki and Redwine excelled at the NFL Combine...Seemed like every time they showed the top LB scores in a particular drill, there was Takitaki on the list...Same with Redwine.
