GREATEST SPORTS MOVIE BRACKET CONTEST/DEBATE

Hockey was underrepresented. Slapshot and Miracle (called Miracle on Ice here for some reason) are the only ones on here. I don't expect them to win but Goon, the Mighty Duck movies and The Rocket are all up there. Not many great hockey movies but those stand out.

 

Don't know what to tell you, Joe. The puck eaters were more than welcome to nominate them.

In all fairness . . . @dlinebass5 did nominate Mighty Ducks 1 and 2 and then @BearsWillWin banned him.

 

When were they nominated? I can't even find out where it is.

 

It started out on the Movie Trivia thread and then @Catfish threw us out.

 

I voted in each category.

 

No wonder I didn't see it then. I don't go on the movie trivia thread much.

 

The Mighty Ducks suck.

 

The Hurricane probably should have qualified too.

Only just found out about this. I'm surprised Water Boy didn't make even the open list. No Coach Carter either, but I don't think that was very popular.

 

Okay . . . I have a plan that I think will work. It's a bit unorthodox, but it should suit the purpose.

Rather than advance to the next round bracket by bracket, set a minimum number votes to advance regardless of bracket. Don't know what that minimum number is yet but it should be a number that eliminates approximately half of the field. Then, take the ones that are advancing and seed them into four round 2 brackets. (The top 4 vote getters in round 1 would be the #1 seed in each of the 4 brackets)

I also reset all eight polls to close on 4/25/19 at about 9:30am. Two reasons:

• I don't need to be messing with this during the NFL Draft. My Browns don't go OTC until Friday, so I may be able to get the above done on Thursday.
• I already have some life events planned next weekend that take priority (such as a brand new Great-Granddaughterson!)

For those of you that were wondering . . .

Rocky, Rocky II and Creed will each advance separately as the 8th seed in three of the four Round 2 brackets.

And I will add a bit of a twist to appease the Ice Hockey fans.
