GREATEST SPORTS MOVIE BRACKET CONTEST/DEBATE

I consolodated.

 

Okay . . . I have eight brackets posted with eight movie titles in each bracket. All of these polls will be open for 7 days. After 7 days, the top four (4) vote getters will advance to the next round.

That means I have a week to figure out tie breakers.

Open for debate.....Was it not my disagreement with you on the greatest sports movie ever that really got the ball rolling here?

Funny thing is, we could list 100 movies, and I seriously doubt it changes either of our minds on #1. lol!

It's fun though...I'm really looking forward to seeing how the top 10 shakes out. Obviously, we wouldn't be here without Lyman's efforts. That was great work...And timely!

 

although it's too late now, we forgot a gem of a movie on cycling - BREAKING AWAY and Cinderella Man.

 

Okay . . . I have a preliminary plan for tie breakers rattling around in my melon. We'll have to wait and see how the voting goes to determine if its plausible.

 

So we will go through all this voting just to confirm that Rocky is number one?

 

Not necessarily. I have some dead democrats that haven't voted yet.

 

Awww! He’s right. Cinderella Man was a F****ng great movie!!

 

Nobody said the "Nominating Committe" was perfect.

 

Rocky should not win. That’s like saying a Liam Neeson movie is the best action movie ever.

It’s maybe worth a watch and a re-watch, but there’s nothing special or original about the story, or the acting.
Pretty generic film really

we'll just agree to disagree.... it's an upset if Rocky doesn't win IMO...

 

IF this continues the way it's going so far - Rocky, Rocky II and Creed will have to stand on their own merits in the next round (or following rounds).

 

It would almost save time if you just pit the three against each other next round and we advance from there

 

Well . . . as of an hour ago, the Rocky conglomerate is in 2nd place. We'll see how they fare standing on their own.

 

I'm hoping to use the results from this round to actually seed the brackets in future rounds.

But, you know the old saying, "Put one hand over your asshole, hope in the other and see which hand fills up first".

 

Rocky is the only sports movie that brings a tear to my eyes every time I see it. When he says “Yo Adrian, I did it “ I always get a tear in my eye.
