Cohen is skilled but outside of Mike Davis the Bears lack a between the tackles runner and I don't think they see Davis as RB1.
Exactly. Consolation is that there's no home game lost, and the Raiders aren't among the tougher teams on that schedule (as of now, of course). That said, I don't think any team prefers to play in London. At least it's still a noon / 1 PM EST game, rather than a 7 AM game, like they've had in the past.
Yeah, but if the team wanted a between-the-tackles runner, why didn't they keep Howard? None of this has made any sense to me. If dumping Howard creates an imperative that you have to get a RB as a priority in the draft, and he has to bring a similar skill set to the table... then why dump him? I'm going to hope this wasn't a colossal mistake on the team's part. It'll certainly be the position that brings the most scrutiny, in the coming weeks / months, despite there being issues at S / nickel CB / TE to watch...
i would invite you to philly, but the fans may kill you for being a bears fans and me for talking to a bears fan. haha.
Would make for a hell of a reason for a London vacation. Doesn't sound too bad, at all... Mack's first game against Oakland... might make for a fun game.
I think we came to the conclusion that Howard boned Nagy's wife. I don't know what the issue was and why the team saw Howard as someone that needed to go. Howard isn't the best RB in the league but his numbers since coming into the league rank him pretty high as compared to his peers. I think part of the issue is the fact that Howard is a volume carry guy....he needs 20+ carries in a game to really be successful because he gets better as the game goes on if he's featured. Nagy's offense isn't geared towards that type of play....he's gonna spread the ball around to multiple guys and use a running back by committee approach so the Bears need to find a guy that can still be successful with limited covers. That's just my theory.
I actually will most definitely be in Philly. I've been to 4 Bears games in Philly. One of my life long friends I went to college with is a season ticket holder and always invites me. I'll buy you a coke and a hotdog....you don't have to speak to me though.
I already put my wife on alert. Haven't been to London in years but this definitely gives us a reason to go.
where does he live ? nice being a tix holder. my 2 brothers are. they sit on the goal line in the North End-zone 5 rows from the field. that's awesome you come to philly to see them and London. you're a good traveling fan BWW!
and you bring the wife too? Husband of the Year ! haha. Not many football fans bring the little Mrs. to games.
He lives in the Riverfront neighborhood. I'm retired...traveling and golfing is all I've got to look forward to lol
Early schedule for Dallas is fairly favorable (7 sub-.500 teams among the first 10 games) before hitting a 5 game stretch that includes the Patriots, Bears, Rams, and Eagles.
The Steelers get a 5-7 home game stretch in the first half of the season and a 5-7 road game stretch in the second half of the season. That is pretty twisted too.
I don't know - don't they have all of those first round draft picks... at the end of the round? Picks in the 20-something's - that's how you turn it around, right? That was the plan?...
