The real life Falcons signed a bunch of free agents after this mock was underway - a legit DT, a backup caliber O-lineman, resigning our own LB/SS, adding two FS prospects, and now bringing back one of our own DE prospects (who got plucked from our practice squad two years ago and was just in the AAF this year). They also brought back Adrian Clayborn and a couple of other guys after the GMO mock but just before this one. It's fueling speculation that a big trade up is in the cards. The team has a bit of "win now" mentality after last year's flop, and they truly don't need nine total draft picks. They already filled the roster on offense via free agency. Now they've also added the edge rusher and interior run defender. They still need depth at CB and LB, but that's not necessarily a round 1 or round 2 priority. So at this point it's anything goes. And now a lot of Falcon fans are cringing at the team's clutch comeback win in the meaningless finale against Tampa, as that game-ending kick dropped Atlanta from the #8 selection to #14. If the move up is a big one (like the Julio Jones trade from 2011), the price tag will be a lot higher. I'm very happy to see the most recent signing. Chris Odom excelled in training camp and preseason, but we ended up losing him. Now he's back, and he has a little more experience. He should be able to push hard for one of the final roster spots, and I hope the team finds a way to stash him and develop him for 2020. Also stoked to see Kemal Ishmael resigned, though I'm not sure the coaching staff really has decided how to use him. He was originally a safety (7th round comp pick in 2013) who later bulked up to fill in as a "big nickel" and provide linebacker depth. They didn't use him at SS last year even with Keanu Neal hurt, which surprised me. The coaches insisted he was a full time LB, but they didn't use him at LB either. He was a core special teams player, but that was it. With that in mind, I didn't think he'd be back this year, but I'm glad they did resign him.
New York Jets 2019 Draft Class: 1(3) - Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky 3(4) - Michael Jordan, C, Ohio State 3(29) - Michael Deiter, G, Wisconsin 4(3) - Lonnie Johnson Jr., CB, Kentucky 6(23) - Antoine Wesley, WR, Texas Tech 7(3) - Cole Tracy, K, LSU
Players more deserving of Russell Wilson's deal, than Russell Wilson. 1. Tom Brady 2. Jared Goff 3. Russell Wilson's Agent for convincing the Seahawks to over pay him by $40 million.
He's a hell of an athlete, and he has NFL body....Decision making and accuracy are major issues though. I read somewhere that he was compared to Matt Jones, the old Arkansas QB. I thought that was pretty good comparison. The scout wasn't meaning it as a compliment either. I'm curious to see where he winds up... They asked him to workout with the TE's at the scouting combine, if that tells ya anything.
The official Live 4 Sport Network War Board is up! https://live4sportnetwork.com/forum/threads/2019-official-war-board.19661/#post-642505
Wow, I thought I had until late morning. I don't have my stuff with me; it's 7:40 in Denver. Can I get auto-picked or skipped? It'll be more than an hour before I'm ready.
Top Dawg actually jumped the gun. You were in the clock all night. Feel free to take anyone he took, or the Giants took I guess.
I know. I couldn't believe when I woke up and saw that the Panthers were OTC...They rolled yesterday.
@TopDawg there probably wont be a next time this year but pay attention to who picked. The Jets made their skipped pick from earlier and the Lions didn't pick yet at the time.
