Im just saying that all throughout the season they have handily out-shot their opponents. Basically done by good offensive zone puck control. Many games I saw them play they would out-shoot their opponents by a 2-1 margin. It seemed common every game for them to be leading in SOG by a substantial margin.

 

They shoot the puck more than any other team. They average 34 shots a game - highest in the league. Again, what in the motherf*** are you talking about?

What's so hard to understand that because of their defense, they limit the amount of shots from the other team.

This is obviously why they typically outshoot teams and have the best shot differential in the league.

 

No, Will never said they led the league in shots.

 

In football, you have good run defense, you limit the yards against you. You have a decent back you'll usually be out rushing teams in yards.

This team is averaging over 34 shots a game, highest in the league. So, sure, the defense is doing their part for the margins, but the reason this team is outshooting everyone is because they SHOOT THE PUCK ALL THE TIME.

Carolina is third in shots allowed, first in shots for. Their differential has more to do with shots for than against. End of story.

And when you run the ball more than anyone else in the league, you'll lead in rush attempts.

Look, this is a small, nitpicking point that I'm willing to let go. I was shocked at the original nonsense, but in retrospect, I shouldn't have, nor should I have engaged. That's on me. I should know better.

Well, if you want to discount the N-zone and d-zone coverage, also 3rd in shots allowable has a lot to do with defense.

The offense and defense play a part equally in shot differential.
If they were allowing 40 shots a night, would it not have an effect on their shot differential?

This is what you said. And this simply isn't right. The teams who allow fewer or a similar amount of shots as Carolina do not have the shots margin that Carolina does. Why? Because they shoot the puck more, not that they prevent more shots.

I'm not going to do this. This isn't important. Think whatever you want.

 

Both play an equal part, end of story, simple math, no need for back and forth.
Everyone knows Carolina has one of the top rated Ds in the league.
