Yeah, all our sleepers are going to start disappearing. I spent a lot of time on RB's this morning. Watching tape prepping for the Bears pick. I could have gone a few different ways there. As I always feel, there will be some talented RB's between rounds 4-6 that will help teams. The kind of guys who still make it true that you don't really have to spend a top pick on an RB.
Fun Facts: Trades by team through 4 rounds Falcons 5 Patriots 4 Browns 4 Niners 3 Cowboys 3 Eagles 3 Bills 3 (includes Duke Johnson trade) Raiders 2 Packers 2 Dolphins 2 Panthers 2 Redskins 1 Colts 1 Rams 1 Bears 1 Texans 1 Steelers 1 Saints 1 Titans 1 Chargers 1 Vikings 1 Bengals 1 Cardinals 1 Buccaneers 1 This leaves 8 teams with 0 trades (SEA/BAL/JAX/DET/DEN/NYJ/NYG/KC) Personally I'm the most shocked by the zero from Denver. Even I brought up Munoz in the "trade-hounds" discussion. Odd to see Torgo leading the pack with ATL, although we know he's chasing 2020 picks. Same with NE who has been vocal about loading up for 2020, I believe in an attempt to move up for Brady's heir apparent next year. Random sidenote @TopDawg The reason I seemed offended to be lumped in with Joe in the trade-hounds mention is that on my shiftiest day I don't compare to Joe in the trades department. Exhibit A ^^^^ Joe's teams have traded 2/2/3/3 times in this draft. Every one of my 4 teams has traded ONLY ONCE (totaling 4 trades = Browns alone). I'm quite confident this would largely play out through the last several years. I find Munoz and Joe often lead the pack in trades complete. I'm at worst a tier below. If I had to guess, I might put JD in just under Joe and Munoz as having a most-frequent-traders card. Then maybe myself and Torgo in at the next tier. That's my speculation. Torgo's effort this year is a bit of his own extreme, I'm sure by his own admission
To clarify, no, not insane. Teams are allowed to trade as much, or as little as they see fit. I was just struck by TD saying Joe and Truth, instead of the more apt Joe, then maybe Truth....as trade-hounds. Plus, I think Joe knows as well as I do that if you added up the trades over the last 5 years, Munoz would have me beat 2-1, at best. Might be 3-1. There's been years where it seemed like Munoz traded every single pick he started with, and owned half the 7th round by the time we got to it. Joe's managed that too I think, albeit with probably 2-3 teams in his control. But still. For the record, I'm not mad at all. Just a bit overly analytical and semantically obsessed on occasion. And I don't think I've ever landed in the top 2 of any draft for most trades completed. So while not offended, I still don't think I qualify as a trade-hound. When I can't settle on a player I'm excited about at a particular spot I'll usually try to trade back. Often happens 1-2 times per draft per team. Where it's mid 4th and I think everyone left is more of a 5th rounder. Or you just like 4 guys and feel one will fall to the next pick. We've all been there. And again, for clarification, GM's are allowed to trade as often as they want. I'm simply making conversation during a slow day.
Munoz hasn't traded because he's been shot down or offline when people wanted to trade. He hasn't been online as much as previous years.
Virtually all of my trades have been related to one pick. Pick 2-13 might be THE pick of the draft. It got me CB Sean Bunting, WR/PR/KR Mecole Hardman, two 2020 thirds and a 2020 4th. Normally it takes a first rounder to get a haul like that. Getting the Hardman pick also put me in a use one/trade one situation with two late fourth rounders that were only four picks apart. I used the Hardman one and traded the later one. So it's not directly part of that chain, but it's certainly related. The funny thing about it is that I had intended to unload a few picks, like I did in the GMO draft. I started with nine picks and even threw away my seventh rounder just to get off of here early and go to dinner. But I selected five players in the first four rounds and still have five picks remaining - including three in this round.
I've had 3 Browns trades....2 Panthers trades....1 Saints trade. I don't feel like it's excessive. That "tradehound" remark had a profound effect on RT. lol! I was just jokin around.... Surely I trade as much as anyone....Who cares? It's fun. We identify targets and make it happen.
Or in the case of the Panthers-Falcons trade around this time yesterday, I identified sushi and made it happen.
