    Agreed.

Dan if you had to chose 1 of them to trade - which one would you chose in a trade for McDavid ? If it was the Flyers - anyone other than Hart can go ! haha.

If the Sabres are trading for McDavid, then the answer is obvious. They'd trade the F and keep the D.

You need both to win, and trading Dahlin would make the team very lopsided. Look at the current results in EDM.

But I want to know why you ask. It's not a realistic possibility that EDM would ever trade McDavid, or that BUF would trade one of their two best players.

Is there a trade out there that would be worthwhile for any clubs to deal for McDavid? How about Philly?

because like i already said i read it twice last weekend McDavid wants out of Oilville and the report had 3 proposed trades lined up as hypothetical trades. One was from Buffalo. You're the only Buffalo fan I know, so I'm asking about a trade for McDavid. Once I didn't see Eichel or Dahlin's name as part of the trade, i laughed and deleted it. Just for kicks, im asking you who you would trade, if a trade happened, to gain your perspective on this. The other 2 teams were Carolina and Montreal. I don't know any fans of theirs to ask them about a hypothetical trade.

I'd trade the rights to Jeff Skinner and Marco Scandella for McDavid. If the Oil pushed, I'd add their choice of Johann Larsson or Gus Girgensons.

thanks SKinny ! Anyone other than Hart. Take -- Giroux. Jake, Coots, all the prospects, etc. McDavid would bring an "Eric Lindros" type deal back to Oilville. 3 or 4 players and prospects/draft picks.

realistically...i would trade Coots, Giroux, maybe a third player and 1 top prospects and 2 draft picks.

That's a big haul for the oilers, sounds like a good deal for both teams.

i would think they ask for Eichel as part of a trade...?

hahaha that's why im not the damn GM! I would trade my own brother to make a deal! haha.

Can you quote McDavid saying he wants out of Edmonton? I bet you cant.

The media darlings have said some things along those lines, but not McDavid.

    Check this out...

    He's frustrated.

"It sucks, obviously. It's not good enough all year. We let streaks drag on, times where we couldn't find ways to get wins drag on. You got to find a way to stop the bleeding quick. It's a slim margin of error in this league," he said after the Oilers were eliminated this week. "It's been an insane season -- coaching change, GM change, good times and bad times. It's been a roller coaster, it's been emotionally challenging, it's been hard mentally to kind of keep on going. But we were always kind of right there. We were close and then we'd drift away. It's frustrating. We want to play in the playoffs as a team. I personally want to play in the playoffs. I'm not happy about it. It's going to be a long summer."

After McDavid sais that, the media does this... (example)

These comments created another round of psychoanalysis. Justin Bourne of The Athletic went on Sportsnet 590 to declare that McDavid wants a trade out of Edmonton: "I'm sure he wants to get the hell out of there but there's not really a way to do it without creating some LeBron James-esque firestorm with the decision." - - - This quote of Bourne' is ludicrous. He gives no detail or credit or sights any tie's to a reliable source. Its fabrication on a huge Canadian market that ultimately, let it go un-checked.

Elliotte Friedman said on his podcast: "What the Edmonton Oilers realize, what they haven't realized before, is that they have maybe two years to get this right or else there's going to be a very unpleasant conversation where Connor McDavid says he's done."

    Two years!

Anyone in McDs shoes wouldn't put up with the bs. Every superstar wants to play in the playoffs and have a shot to win a cup for their legacy.
Everyone except maybe Marcel Dionne, but even he was on decent teams for a while making the playoffs.

I agree, but my point is I havnt heard McDavid claim he wanted out.

Im certainly glad, Steve Yzerman stuck around to... those dead wings seasons were even worse than the Edmonton situation, but things eventually turned around under Stevie's leadership. Maybe McD can do the same for the Oil?

Precisely. Not only have we not heard him (or his agent) say anything of the like, he's a very young player with a presumably long career in front of him. He knows that, with the contract he has and the assets Edmonton would demand, being traded to an ideal Stanley Cup winning situation is unlikely. So, stay in Edmonton, push your frustrations so that there's pressure on the organization to get it right, and see what happens. If he were 30, it would be a different story.

dline- i don't think he'll last till he's 30 if he doesn't start winning very soon. 30 is a long time of losing. i think the win game clock is like 25 or 26.

I don't disagree. I just meant that, given his age and current contract, it's not like he's in Cup or bust mode, right now. His frustrations are valid. But I'll compare them to, say, Vincent Trocheck - a guy who called the team a "steaming pile of crap" over the last six years. He wasn't trying to get traded, but he was voicing his frustrations. The players can put pressure on a team, if they're good. McDavid is going to do that, now. But it's later that, if nothing's fixed, he'll wanna go elsewhere.

Canes trade Adam Fox to the Rangers for a 2nd and conditional 3rd round pick.
I didn't know you could make trades again during the playoffs.

Neither did I?? Thought it was froze till after the Cup finals ?

  20. skinny123 Guest

I don't know, that's strange, especially with the Canes still in. Maybe he plays for the Charlotte Checkers.
