Upon further review he is the only first team all american player in 3 sports.

But that doesn't make this comment true.....

In pro sports Sanders beats Ainge, but 3 sports at a high level in high school then two in college and then 15 years in the nba.

What Ainge did is no doubt impressive.

But there's no way he's the best two sport athlete.

    Not at the pro level.

Not at the college level either.

Combined high school, college and pro.

There are a fuck ton of athletes that accomplished way more than him in college and pros. So no....you're still wrong.

Even as a single sport athlete....Magic Johnson accomplishment more than Ainge at all 3 levels when you combine them.

And if you talk two sport athletes....I don't even have to look at what Deion Sanders did in high school to know how college and pro accomplishments more than trump Ainge.

Combined I place his 3 sport accomplishment in high school next to his 15 years of longevity and relevance in Pro basketball that puts him over the top.
Magic Johnson was a better basketball player than Ainge, but that's not the topic.

How does being an all American in high school beat being a Hall of Famer at the highest level?

Deion Sanders was a better pro baseball player than Ainge. Non debatable.

Sanders was way better at football than Ainge was at basketball. Also non debatable.

Sanders was better at the college level and was also a two sport college athlete.

    Therefore...overall...Sanders is greater.

If you watched the video, it says arguably, so a debate/ argument.

Only person ever in the world to be all-american in three sports.

Ainge was a great college basketball athlete, but his limited pro baseball career hurts him in this debate of the greatest dual sport athlete. by adding in HS awards and accolades, you''re only opening the door for others to join. if you keep it at college and pro - Ainge isn't the greatest dual athlete. certainly a great college basketball athlete.

They said he doesn't get mentioned when they talk about multi- sport athletes. So they're referring to more than two sports as well.
If we're into 3 sport territory then high school has to be part of the debate.

Also the longest career of any in that class.

here's a interesting point on Ainge. As solid as a college basketball he had as his best sport and all the awards he won, he's still not in the College Basketball HOF !

Did you notice that the guy who made the video was careful not to put "dual-sport".

Charlie Ward - college football Hall of Fame ... 10+ year career in the NBA ... drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1993 baseball draft ... also acquitted himself well in the 1994 Arthur Ashe Amateur Tennis Tournament.

The video opens debate about multi-sports athletes and makes the point of Ainge never being mentioned.

You could throw in 5 or 6 names and go back and forth.
Ainge deserves recognition for being the only person ever to achieve all-american in three different sports. I know Ainge the baseball player, wether he would've developed into anything good/great we'll never know.
