Vikings sign Dakota Dozier... The Vikings announced they signed offensive lineman Dakota Dozier on Thursday. Dozier, who turns 28 later this month, has played five NFL seasons since the Jets drafted him in the fourth round. He appeared in 38 career games with seven starts for the Jets, spending time at both left and right guard. Dozier played under current Vikings offensive line coach/run game coordinator Rick Dennison last season, appearing in six games with two starts.
Getting real tired of the O-line problems how come Dennis Green could get the O-line fixed but Tricky Ricky seems lost, every year it's the same thing in the upcoming draft if it's not addressed IMO he has got to go....Dakota Dozier never heard about him
Now it's Holton Hill suspended the first 4 games for Ped this off-season is starting to look like a nightmare for the Vikings
Vikings add backup quarterback Sean Mannion... The Vikings are bringing in a backup quarterback just before the start of the offseason program. Sean Mannion will sign with Minnesota, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Mannion worked out for the Vikings last week. The Vikings have been looking for a backup to starting quarterback Kirk Cousins since Trevor Siemian, last year’s backup, signed with the Jets. Mannion joins Cousins and Kyle Sloter as the quarterbacks currently on the Vikings’ roster. A 2015 third-round draft pick, Mannion spent four years with the Rams and started just one game, a meaningless Week 17 loss in 2017. This year the Rams decided to let Mannion walk in free agency and signed Blake Bortles as the backup to Jared Goff. (PFT)
Guess everybody has lost there Damn mind Blake Bortles to the Rams Sean Mannion to the Vikings, why what's going on with Sloter?
One of the most productive pass rushers in the AAF has found a job in the NFL. According to multiple reports, the Minnesota Vikings are set to sign former Salt Lake Stallions defensive end Karter Schult. The deal was first reported by Damond Talbot of Draft Diamonds. Schult was one of three pass rushers to record at least seven sacks in the AAF before the league’s collapse. Damontre Moore and Jayrone Elliott led the league with 7.5 sacks and have each found NFL gigs with San Francisco and Miami, respectively. Schult was next on the list with 7.0 sacks for Salt Lake. Schult went undrafted in 2017 out of the University of Northern Iowa. He signed with the Cleveland Browns but did not make the roster.
I think the Vikings have signed about 6 AAF survivors, addressing the area's of concern on the roster. I like this! I think its clever and very economical and will at least add depth to key area's.
Trading back is that wise getting real sick tired of this,he better not blow it cause his and Zimmer jobs might be on the line here Tricky Ricky!!!!!
Vikings working out AAF linebacker Greer Martini... The Minnesota Vikings will host former Salt Lake Stallions linebacker Greer Martini for a workout on Wednesday, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. Martini tied for fifth in the AAF this season with 55 tackles for the Stallions. He also had a sack and an interception. Martini spent part of last season on the practice squad of the Green Bay Packers after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Notre Dame. He played in four preseason games for Green Bay, recording 13 tackles and a pass defended. The Vikings have been proactive in adding to their roster through players cast off by the collapse of the AAF. They’ve already added cornerback Duke Thomas, safety Derron Smith and defensive end Karter Schult to the roster over the last week. (PFT)
Jordan Martin Martin signed a contract with the Vikings on Wednesday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports. Martin went to minicamp with the Jets after going undrafted out of Syracuse in 2018 and played for San Diego in the AAF before it collapsed. The 24-year-old should compete for a depth role in the secondary with the Vikings.
