I don’t feel like taking that bet. It’s probably 40-60 I’d win. But it’s more that emotionally I don’t care enough whether I’m right or wrong on that to risk an av bet. Emotionally I wanted Mixon to pay a price for that crappy video. And genuinely believed he would. Like you said though, I forgot about the Bengals factor. Them and Dallas are likely the two worst repeat offenders there.
ugh. just got an email from AA that one of my flights next week was canceled due to having to rearrange flights with the Max being grounded. My flight wasn't even on a Max. They automatically rebooked me on a later flight that won't even land in Atlanta until midnight. Figure 30-45 min for baggage claim, the parking shuttle and getting out of the construction mess there at the airport, and then a 1 hour plus drive after that, and I'll be home somewhere between 1:30 and 2am instead of 9:30-10pm. So FY to AA and to Boeing.
Yeah that’s quite the developing story Torgo. All grounded and it’s probably a simple software issue to fix. But public confidence might take a lifetime to recover
What gets me is that AA is essentially bumping every single passenger on my flight with no compensation just so they can use our plane for a different flight. It's less than 14 days away so it would now cost a higher fare to try to book an alternative flight on another airline - and most other flights are already full at this point, which is part of why I had booked this particular flight with AA in the first place. I get it that weather and other unforeseen circumstances can cause flight cancellations. But that's not really the case here - they're simply bumping us to send our plane elsewhere. We should at least get a credit voucher of some kind for the involuntary bump.
Any of the other old geezers here remember that ad? My understanding is that it got pulled because of complaints that it was giving kids nightmares. There was a mini version of it in the early 1980s that was toned down quite a bit. That one was just weird and looks pretty silly today. But the original was truly creepy, especially when seen on a black-and-white TV from a UHF station pulled in with a rabbit-ear antenna. You couldn't help but wonder WTF the producers were thinking when they created it.
Was looking for it just now. The original is apparently impossible to find. The weird 10-second remake from the 1980s is on YouTube: The original had different music, different voice(s), I think had a slightly different animated character, and was much longer with more words. It started with a repeated four beat driving musical buildup as this tiny little dot of a figure angrily marched from the distance towards the screen, getting bigger and bigger. The lyrics kicked in with a much deeper voice (might have been overdubs with multiple voices together) that started with "hate... is a poison that corrodes... ". It was a PSA that typically played in off-peak hours on regular stations and was even more frequently on the lame UHF stations (with cheaper ad rates) where little kids would be watching Popeye cartoons or re-runs of family-friendly shows like The Munsters or The Brady Bunch. It was bizarre enough when you saw it late at night during some old movie. But yeah, I can see toddlers getting terrified when they tuned in to watch The Little Rascals and got hit with that during the commercial break.
Best I could do for the Colts is swap my Early 4th for your late 4th. And I guess a very small 4-spot swap in the 7th. Ya it's marginal with the 7th but I wouldn't be lying by saying it's my best offer.
