2019 General Managers Discussion Thread

It gets even weirder. We also have a new defensive line coach. Four years ago, this guy was the head coach of the high school about four miles down the road from the Falcons training complex.

This is the guy who is expected to revitalize our pass rush. He has one year of prior NFL experience (with us as a lower level defensive assistant, two years ago) and a whopping two years of college coaching experience (one year at Georgia State, and last year on ex-UGA coach Mark Richt's staff at Miami).

On the plus side, at least he's used to working with younger players. We're going to have a bunch of them this year.

 

Hue Jackson has a magic hand, everything it touches turns to shit. The Browns went 1-31 in two seasons, the Bengals were in first place when he became an assistant with them and they promptly turned into a bottom feeder.

 

But he never ever had two of his top players (a) sit out an entire season or (b) demand a trade to escape drama causing the loss of both of them in the same off season.

 

Not defending Tomlin by any means, but Hue didn't even know who his top players were...

 

Fuck it! This isn't the time or place to resurrect that discussion.

 

1-31 speaks for itself.

 

He did pretty well for the Bengals as WR coach in 2004-2006. That's the role I'm hiring him for.

 

I have no clue how BB is going to fill all the coaching staff openings this year. Especially if the rumors they’re going to move Joe Judge from ST to offense are true.

Somebody should give Pepper Johnson a job in this thing, though.

 

With three #1's, there's a lot of different ways that the Raiders can go in this draft...

Nothing is off the table....Listening to any offers.

 

Eagles are short a DL coach. I'll throw him a bone. Consider him signed. If he fails he can only blame himself.

I have some travel coming up March 29 - April 6 and there will be times when my internet availability is limited. So I might be leaving lists or other instructions with RT or Joe or Lyman much more often than I would in other drafts. But I'll tune in when I can.

 

That would be a great fit. Always bothered me the way Bill did him.

So far we have had only 7 participants (covering 9 teams) respond. Will someone please tell me how in the hell we're supposed to have an on line draft that typically takes about a week to complete when only 7 people can find the time to click one button and announce their intentions?
