That was me "lightening up"... I obviously knew that wasn't the post he was referring to.

    Needs work.

Wait until you actually take them down. Haven't beat Pittsburgh in quite a while, took a 5 turnover game to fight to a tie, albeit that was pre-Mayfield. Mayfield is 0-1 though, in other words Tyrod Taylor (0-0-1) has a better record against the Steelers. Hell, maybe soon the QB with the most wins in Cleveland will actually be a Brown ;)

Sorry, its been a pretty bad offseason so forgive me for the couple shots there. Honestly excited for the Browns/Steelers rivalry to be renewed. If there was ever a season paved for the Browns to take the North, it is this year. Ravens and Steelers look to be taking a step back, can the Browns take that step forward? And to actually respond to your post: Yes any division title matters. Once you get to the playoffs anything can happen. You get there, you are a Super Bowl contender. May not be a favorite, but you would be much closer than you have been in over 20 years and that means plenty. Winning the North certainly isn't a given, but the Browns sound like the very, very, very early favorites.

because i thought browns fans, with their new team, would be happy making the playoffs. apparently not. you guys want the Super Bowl.

wanting and being realistic are two vastly different things. your comment of not being satisfied with the playoffs or a division title and wanting the SB seems highly unrealistic for a team that didn't make the playoffs last year and hasn't since 2002. Beckham is a nice addition, but him and Eli sure haven't done much in recent years. So now him and Baker Mayfield are SB bound?

I know that. I said we have been dominated in the division for 20 years.

Dude, I was complimenting the Steelers. It was the Bears fans' contention that if Cleveland were to win the AFCN, it would not make them SB contenders....I was just calling BS on that. Not chalking anything up here.

Winning a division doesn’t automatically make you a contender.

It’s not specifically about the Browns.

no axe dawg told me what to expect and what they are settling for.

We argued over the word "elite" for three days. lol! I'm not doing this again.

    We see it differently.

Yeah, it's gonna be amazing. Mayfield and Beckham are gonna play other teams 2-against-11 and WIN.

    GOOD ONE AXE ! :wall:

Wasn't meant to be taken seriously, like i said in the 2nd paragraph I'm excited the Browns/Steelers rivalry is about to be renewed. And I did say I agreed that winning the division makes them contenders. Doesn't make them favorites, but the underdog becoming champions is a recurring theme in sports is it not?

That was actually directed at you - Cleveland has guys other than Beckham and Mayfield, you know.

  15. Catfish Guest

i know it was directly at me since i brought up beckham jr. and i know axe they have 50 other guys and a scout team. anything else you wanna point out Captain Obvious? talk about taking a word or phrase too far ... ? you know what i meant. you didn't have to harp on it like a spoiled brat. the browns fans didn't.

  16. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

And you don't have to tell Cleveland fans what is and isn't realistic to expect, Captain WetBlanket.

I'm not saying I expect a Lombardi in 2019/2020 season..I am talking about the current build/regime. I expect great things from Baker and Co.

The Browns aren't just a few guys. They were ripped down to the rafters and accumulated assets other than players for an actual rebuild. Then Comes Dorsey.

Right now, I consider players that are expected to help this team with quality play, age in ( ):
    Baker Mayfield 23
    Odell Beckham Jr 26
    Jarvis Landry 26
    Nick Chubb 23
    Kareem Hunt 23
    David Njoku 22
    Joel Bitonio 27

    Myles Garrett 23
    Larry Ogunjobi 4
    Denzel Ward 21
    Joe Schobert 25
    Christian Kirksey 26
    Genard Avery 23
    Damarious Randall 26

If they can afford it...this base could be in for a long special ride.

Should make veteran additions like the following eager to help them get to the Super Bowl as their window is smaller and it might be their last chance:
Sheldon Richardson 28, signed for 3 years
    Olivier Vernon 28 years
    J.C. Tretter 28

They are a few pieces away, I realize that, but no team has a pro bowler at every position...neither do we, I'm not naive. But we do have special players at the majority of positions and they are young and hungry.

Seriously and in all fairness, I don't see a problem with fans having Super Bowl hopes in March... that's what its all about. There isn't a single player on any team who suits up that doesn't desire and play to win the Super Bowl. Every teams goal should be to win the whole enchilada... and it is. Realistically, not every team can, but every player out there ought to be playing his best with the attitude, that even if we wont or don't make it, no one is going to be able to point their finger at me.

The Dolphins have yet to add a quarterback to their roster for the 2019 season, but they have now parted ways with their starter from 2018.

The agents for Ryan Tannehill announced on Friday afternoon that their client has been traded to the Titans. They also announced that he’s signed a new one-year deal that presumably cuts his salary down from the $18.725 million he was due to make under the terms of his contract with the Dolphins.

While the agents announced the trade, there’s been no word about the compensation headed back to Miami.

Tannehill’s new contract presumably cements his status as the No. 2 behind Marcus Mariota as well. Given Mariota’s injury history, though, it would not come as a surprise if he makes some starts during the 2019 season. Mariota missed three games last year and has missed at least one game in all four of his NFL seasons.

With Tannehill off the roster, Jake Rudock and David Fales are the only quarterbacks under contract with the Dolphins.

UPDATE 2:49 p.m. ET: According to multiple reports, the Titans are sending a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2019 seventh-round pick to Miami for Tannehill and a 2019 sixth-round pick.

UPDATE 2:52 p.m. ET: Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports Tannehill will make a fully guaranteed $7 million salary that can rise above $12 million if incentives, some of which are tied to playing time, are reached. (PFT)
