    How did it get restructured/extended with that much saving. Didn't we have specific rules?

  2. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    That's the savings number returned by Over the Cap. It's also the specific reason I asked Truth that question on the previous page.

    Last year I believe we had a maximum percentage. This year no such rule is listed or was discussed. We’ve simply been trusting overthecap

    I found it now. We changed it last season. I had to do some digging. Using the tool x3 but only guys with 1 or 2 years remaining.

  5. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    Damarious Randle only had 1 year remaining on his contract.

    Which is precisely what I did.

  7. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

    Yep, which as far as I know we’ve been obiding by. Caught one rule-breaker...but he’s done his penance :D

  8. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    It's not like did it intentionally. I just lost track of how many years he had left on his contract.

    I know its somewhere in this forum but, damned if I can find it . . .

    If we tendered an RFA on the opening day, what is the date we can actually sign them?

    @Tim ???

  10. Campbell Administrator Manager Commissioner

    I’ll double check when I get home, but I believe there’s a window during FA for that.

    We set it to one week from when we expanded the signings to all non-vet min players.

    Originally it was a week from FA start but we decided not to allow RFA offers under $6M at the start, unlike last year.

    So . . . It's one week from today. March 22nd ?

    That makes sense given the APY's involved. Given that . . . Maybe next year we should change the deadline for applying tenders to give the participants a chance to get their bearings regarding their rosters. This would apply to RFA's and ERFA's only. Franchise and Transition Tags would remain as is.

    Example (not using real dates):
    March 1, 2020 - Rosters lock
    March 8, 2020 - Initial FA bidding starts ($9M minimum)
    March 14, 2020 - RFA tenders and ERFA designations due.
    March 15, 2020 - Reduced FA bidding starts
    etc.

    I understand your point but the main argument I would have against it is people checking the market before they tender.

    Questions regarding Lyman's restructures. They are Vernon Zeitler and Randall. 1. How do the Browns have both Vernon and Zeitler on the team, if they were traded for each other? Was there a trade I don't know about? 2, Zeitler's contract is for 2019 2020 and 2021, which would be 3 years, right? Which would mean he is not eligible for a restructure/extension, correct?

    So Lions the max I can do is extensions with Darius Slay (9,596,000), Marvin Jones, (4,456,000), and Damon Harrison (4,856,000). I can't do Stafford or Wagner because they are over the 2 year limit.

    Good catch. You’re 100% right on him not being able to restructure Zeitler.
    @Lyman

    In this exercise he did acquire Vernon via trade. But he never traded Zeitler as the real life Browns chose to

    Because at the time when I looked on OTC to plan my restructures / extensions, OTC was only showing contract data for Zeitler out to 2020. I didn't think anything of it because it seemed like he had been a Brown for three years already.

    Tonight, when I look on OTC, they now show contract data for him on the Giants out through 2021. If you read the fine print above the contract data and do the math, he does, in fact, have three years left on his contract. Perhaps OTC saw the mistake and corrected it when they moved his contract numbers over to the Giants?

    I'll back it out tomorrow . . . right before I check everyone else's data.

    Okay . . . I sobered up from last night enough to tackle backing Zeitler's extension out of the Google documents. Everybody happy now ?
