lol! Oh now we're questioning the merits... leave it to dline to piss on our possible AFCN title, 6 months before the season starts... Suddenly taking down Pittsburgh and Baltimore means nothing...smh
question to lyman or Irishdawg. when the phillies signed Bryce Harper, their attendance was 26th in the league. stadium was empty. within hours of signing harper, they had an onslaught of tix sales and within 2 weeks over 220,000 tix sales. his jersey broke the record for jersey sales in 1 day for any athlete ever. their spring training games are sold out and over 3000 fans are attending. now i don't how the browns do with tix sales and from past conversations, they seem to do very well and sellout a lot. have you guys heard anything about Beckham jersey sales or tix being sold in the past 48 hrs ?
Their Achilles Heal last year was stopping the run. They addressed that by adding Vernon and Richardson. The O-line took a hit by losing Zeitler. I probably would have shipped Corbett and some draft picks (or Ogbah) to the Giants rather than Zeitler. Obviously, Dorsey has a high opinion of Corbett.
He's not wrong. Right now Kansas City is poised to be a powerhouse for a while with that offense and with their QB. The Patriots are penciled into the AFC title game every year and that's gonna continue probably until Belichick or Brady walk away from the game. It doesn't mean winning the North means nothing....it just means you aren't automatically a contender just because you do. The Ravens won the North this past season....did anyone consider them a contender? I realize you guys are happy to have the Browns be relevant again. And we are all happy for you. No fan base deserves a winner more than the Browns fan base. But maybe you can stop being so sensitive everytime someone makes a comment about your team that isn't over the top praise?
The Browns (even as shitty as they have been) haven't had a game blacked out since their return. Season ticket sales increased by over 10% in the last two days. Browns Beckham jersies went up for sale within 10 hours of the trade announcement and sold out 4 hours later.
WTF are you talking about? We've been dominated in our division since we returned. He suggests that us winning the title is "no indicator of success"..lmao! But I'm being overly sensitive for calling bullshit? You guys are a treat.
They sold out tix same day as the signing... Jerseys go on sale today, so I expect it to be a hot item. At the end of the day though, he's still a WR and they have added so many players the last two yeas, people can't afford 5-6 jerseys...so I would say that will be a bit subdued. Garrett and Baker jersey sales were through the roof. Landry became a popular jersey too.. Beckham might enter the same atmosphere as Baker though.
lol, we are not on the same page are we? I heard on the radio they sold out, but after seeing your post I looked it up and they were still in the process of ticket renewals, so you are more accurate on your post Lym.
I don't see how that applies to my comment. Pretty sure he meant it in the context of being considered a title contender. That's how I read it. I might be wrong. You're overly sensitive because you're always overly sensitive and you aren't exactly debunking that theory right now.
The Browns 2019 schedule is very tough as they have a game with the Patriots, the Rams and the Seahawks, along with the doubles with the Steelers, Ravens and so forth... Im already stoked to see how this plays out.
They had the #1 defense in the league...Yes, I think a lot of people thought they were a contender after what the offense did to close out the season.
I think you’re wrong. I seriously doubt many fans outside of Baltimore saw the Ravens as a contender.
Ravens had the #2 defense, by the way. That's one thing everyone always gets wrong....even the NFL. You aren't #1 because you gave up the fewest amount of yards. The team that gives up the fewest amount of points is #1. Bears gave up a whopping 4 less points than the Ravens and were therefore....numero uno.
I didn't think so. In hindsight I think if Parkey makes that field goal the Bears have a decent chance to play in the NFC title game or go to the SB. But now in hindsight it's clear the Bears weren't contenders. But if you had asked me at the time if they were serious contenders playing in a conference with the Rams and Saints....my honest answer would have been no. Even though the Bears destroyed the Rams in the regular season....that game was in Chicago....my confidence wouldn't have been all that high with the Bears traveling to L.A. or NOLA. I know this goes against everything you're programmed to be.....but I'm not a blind homer when it comes to the team I love.
Holy f***, dude. Who are you? The Browns have won nothing, as of now. I was responding to a post that claimed winning the division was indicative of the team being ready for a Superbowl contention. You want me to piss in your Cheerio's? Maybe try having a winning record and coming in more than third in the division before even mentioning a Super Bowl. But I didn't do that, huh? I said, very factually, that winning the AFC North is not indicative of a Superbowl-contending team. No one in that division was threatening to win a Superbowl, last year. And considering that the other three teams in the division haven't gotten better, since then, the claim has no merit. So, very plainly: I'm not "questioning" anything. If you're gonna be a punk, bring something to the table. Don't just try to insult me and provide absolutely zero substance or refute to my original point. It's not a great look.
Eagles went 7-9 back-to-back, then won a Super Bowl. Rams had NINE straight losing seasons (never finishing above 3rd), then won the Super Bowl. Patriots went 8-8 then 5-11 in 1999 & 2000, won the Super Bowl the next year. Success doesn't always take "baby steps."
Wow. This blows my mind more than your take on Dan Hampton...lol! Of course the Bears were contenders. They showed that they can shut down anybody....I think Trubisky's late season injury derailed them more than anything, but they were definite contenders. Geez. They lost by a doink. A double doink.. And the Ravens were contenders too.
