well stated and this was pitt having bell as their rb too, which was a nice commodity to have. the giants have barkley and tate. whoopee. to go from brown and bell to connor and moncrief is a huge drop off to me.
I mean Bell was off the team last year so I sort of guess I wasn't even thinking about him in this scenario. Plus Pitt was able to produce well with Conner as his replacement. But Conner isn't Bell -- so taking away AB is going to have a bigger impact on Conner than it would have Bell. Moncrief... yeah... he isn't scaring anyone.
***BREAKING*** Kareem Hunt suspended eight games... Browns running back Kareem Hunt will be suspended for the first half of the 2019 NFL season. Hunt has been suspended eight games after video emerged showing a violent incident with a woman. The Chiefs immediately released Hunt after the video came out, and the team said Hunt had lied to them about the nature of the incident. Despite the video of him shoving and kicking the woman, Hunt was never arrested and is not facing criminal charges. The NFL said the suspension is both for that incident, and for a separate incident in June. Hunt is not appealing the suspension. He will be permitted to participate in the Browns’ offseason program. The Browns signed Hunt, a Cleveland native, this offseason. On the field, he’ll be an important part of an offense that suddenly looks like it could have the best collection of skill position playmakers in football. Off the field, Hunt has a long way to go to repair his image.
browns had 2 wins in 1999 and 3 in 2000, so that was the start of the bad stretch you were referring too. i meant 30 to when they were competing for the playoffs with kosar and byner.
Slow your roll... We are not going to be satisfied with just playoffs. A 20 year embarrassment does not mean we are not looking at Super Bowl as our goal. Never been to one, and only been to the playoffs once since the return, but make no mistake, this team and fanbase are thinking Super Bowl, not just satisfaction of playoffs.
They were leading the division and picked to go to the AFC Championship game in 1995 when Modell pulled the plug and announced he was moving the team to Baltimore. Once that news broke, the wheels fell off and the rest of that season sucked. So, okay, make it 25 years if you want.
If they would have channeled Major League....they could have spited their owner that wanted to move the team and won the whole f'n thing.
first things first...Win the division. If you can win the AFC North, then you should be considered a Super Bowl contender.
This ^^^^ from a guy who's team that, until two years ago, hadn't won a championship since 4 years PRIOR to the Browns last championship. Get off your fucking high horse.
here we go. Lyman all mad that someone speaks to his Browns. It's all in good fun. fucking relax. The Eagles were winning division titles and the NFC the last 20 yrs. Has Cleveland? Nope. The Eagles at least went to 2 other Super Bowls before they won it 2 years ago. Can't say that about the Browns pal. So no high horse here.
with Baltimore making some upgrades and Pitt now losing Brown, who takes the division ? All signs point to Cleveland. It looks to be a fun race though with 2-3 teams competing for the title. Sorry Cincy.
I've got news for you, Kemo Sabe. The Browns will win a Super Bowl before the Eagles even sniff another one.
It's going to be fun moving forward with the Mayfield/Jackson rivalry. As long as Mayfield's healthy, we should be contenders.
wow. it's 65 degrees today. you must be outside and getting some fresh air with your chest out and arms thumping and loving the browns again. must be nice after 25 years? the Eagles just won one, so sniffing is a bit of an insult. keep hitting that pipe Lyman.
That wasn't true last year. And aside from the Browns, the division has gotten decidedly worse. So, I don't know that winning the AFC North is any kind of indicator for success, at the moment. New England may be great, for example, but winning the AFC East isn't exactly the pin in their bonnet (or whatever the saying is).
Like I said - should be fun to see 3 teams battle twice a season now with all meaningful games on the line. So Hunt is gone 8 games. The Browns still have Chubb. Look out week 9 ! I don't know much about their O-line or def outside of a few names. Their offense must be considering top 5 even without Hunt and with him #1 or 2 ?
