Before voting concludes, I’d like to add why I don’t think we should convert the SPTs to a bench spot. In short, I think it hurts the teams at the bottom of the league. If you’re struggling to compete for the most part on a weekly basis, I don’t see how having 11 less options on the waiver wire is going to help you now or in the future. Just my two cents. Vote as you will
ARe we planning on doing the draft like we have the last couple of years or are we doing it on the fleaflicker site?
We'll be doing it on the forums the same as last year. And I'm sorry I forgot to message you back on Twitter. You're good to go.
@Tim it seems 7 people have voted for an option that does not transfer points to skill players. That could perhaps narrow down the poll to simply 3 options. 1. Eliminate SPTs; lose the roster space 2. Eliminate SPTs; keep the roster space 3. Leave it the same
Just so everyone knows.., The vote was in this morning with ‘keep it the same’ as the majority with 4. The extra vote didn’t come in till later in the day.
You could also look at it as a 7-4 vote to eliminate the position, which I think is relevant...with the majority of those 7 wanting to eliminate bit keep the roster spot...for the record, I was not one of the 4 votes. on either side of the "tie". I was the lone vote to eliminate it all together, without keeping the roster spot.
The main reason for breaking it down this way was because different people had different ideas of what they would like to see done with the position. This gave each of those options a voice. Given the chance to choose from those options, the majority went with leaving it the same. I understand the point of view that there are more people siding with eliminating it in some form, but given the opportunity to come to a simple consensus on it there is only one option that has more people siding with it. I initially was going to forego any vote on this topic again this season but opted to give it a simple vote. Simple vote, simple answer, the roster requirements will remain the same.
I was saying to Joe, it’s basically a pointless roster spot. BUT...if I keep strategizing and attempting to get that sneaky return team, eventually I’m going to win a matchup by 2-3 points thanks to a punt return TD. And that will be sweet
Then eliminate the need to get a replacement during the bye week, or else fall under rules violations...
Was this ever a thing? I don’t think I grabbed a bye week fill-in. I don’t remember much DST waiver movement during the year
No one has ever been hit for having SPTs on a bye in there starting line up. It’s an unwritten kind of rule specifically for that spot, but if anyone feels that it should be clarified in the inactivity rule I have no problem with that.
No thank you. Since it’s 90% or better likely you were getting a score of zero from that spot, I have no problem with teams leaving in their DST on bye (equal score most likely). So long as each team keeps one DST on their roster at all times during the season
I just know we had some pretty specific conversations about not having positions on their bye in the lineup. It's a crap shoot that you ever get points from a ST... So it really doesn't matter either way as long as that part isn't held against anyone.
