Perriman wants out of his contract with the Browns. Makes sense. He signed a 1-year deal so he could prove it with some playing time but now he will be the #3 option at best and likely the #4 option.

  2. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Ya, he now has Beckham, Landry, Calloway and (probably Higgins) in front of him.

What a difference a day makes!

I mean we are trading everything right now his agent should call the Giants and see if they want to offer that same deal... They are suddenly short on receivers...

I think the Giants actually got back good value. Obviously sucks knowing your team is rebuilding and next season won’t be great...but I think this could have been much worse.

Obviously you need to hit on the picks to make it a good trade.

Le’Veon Bell gets 4 years and 52 million from the Jets.

This is what you sat a season out for?

^What was the guaranteed amount? That's pretty much all that matters for these guys.

I figured the Jets for most of the season but it definitely wasn't a slam dunk. Teams like the 49ers made tons of sense if they wished to pursue him. If the podcast made it up you'll notice it wasn't the most confident of declarations.

  8. Only $35M

So he got one less year and 1 less million per year than what Pittsburgh offered.

The Bell contract is going to be one people debate big time in the coming months. It's hard to get concrete details on what the steelers offered since the deal was obviously never put in place. I've seen it mentioned where he was only getting 10M fully guaranteed but would snag 33M over the first two years (assuming he was on the team). Still, if it was only 10M actually guaranteed in writing (and the rest is putting your fate in the hands of the team), then Bell surely feels like he hit the jackpot here. Then again, he didn't cash in on 14M last year by sitting out.

It's all going to depend on what side of the aisle you're trying to look at things from.

49ers set to acquire Dee Ford...

Talks between the 49ers and Chiefs about a trade for pass rusher Dee Ford have reportedly advanced to a point where Ford is talking about a new deal with the Niners.

Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that deal is set to be for five years and $87.5 million.

Albert Breer of SI.com reports that the teams have agreed on compensation assuming the talks on a new deal get done. The 49ers would send a 2020 second-round pick to the Chiefs in exchange for Ford’s services.

Ford was given the franchise tag by the Chiefs earlier this month and signing that tag would be another box to check before the trade could be completed.

The move would make Ford the second pass rusher to leave the Chiefs this offseason if it is completed. Justin Houston was released last week as the team begins to shift their defensive makeup with Steve Spagnuolo taking over as the defensive coordinator. (PFT)

Cameron Wake leaving Dolphins to join Titans...

A decade with the Dolphins has concluded for pass rusher Cameron Wake.

Wake and the Tennessee Titans have agreed to a three-year, $23 million deal, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday, per a source. Pelissero added that $10 million is guaranteed.

Wake will be 37 when he takes the field for the Titans following a final season with Miami in which he posted six sacks -- the least since his rookie year -- and contributed 36 tackles. Still, the total wasn't far behind the Titans' Jurrell Casey, who led the Titans with seven sacks in 2018.

A five-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro selection, Wake has the resume and experience to improve the Titans' defense if he still has some left in the tank. (NFL.com)

It was $19M in the first year and 33 over the first two (45 first 3). Bell is an idiot.

Could be all smoke. I have to see how their draft unfolds, obviously, but I kind'a like what they did. They're most likely gonna be lousy for a couple years, but they weren't very good the last couple trying to patch things. Really think they need to start from Square 1.

A lot of people are starting to think that way. For myself, it's going to depend on the continued development of a number of players. But, IMHO, one of those players that absolutely must get better is Austin Corbitt.

Last year was the time to start from square 1. Until last night they had everything you could ask for as a QB (young or old). Star receiver, star running back, they built a wall for the QB, good tertiary weapons in Engram and Sheppard and Ellison. It all made sense to transition out of the Eli era and into whatever comes next. Now all they are is a 38 year old QB who is only still playing in the league because of Beckham's greatness. Eli's stats throwing to Beckham are about league average. Throwing to anyone else and he is one of the worst QB's in the league. It has been this way for several years now. And they just took away the guy that makes him close to serviceable. The Giants WR core was shallow to begin with.

We have time yet to see what happens in free agency and the draft but right now this Giants team feels like the worst in the league on paper and anything more than 4 wins should win Shurmer coach of the year...

not enough for him. thought he was worth a lot more.

This is "fair value" in the current NFL though. Which is why I didn't think they would move him. Amari Cooper set the floor -- a late first round pick. Kalil Mack set the ceiling -- two first round picks. Mack plays a more important / valuable position. The Giants got something in between. (a mid first, a guy who was a first rounder/a cheap Collins replacement, and a late 3rd rounder)

I don't think that trade is worth what you have to give up, but it's fair in the scope of how the NFL does pick for player trades.
